An absolute experience! Excellent service along with stock from a bygone era. Always a pleasure to see what their window display has changed to!

I bought an antique ring from Renes antique jewlers in the waterfront in 1995, and got married the same year. The same ring was stolen in a break-in after my divorce while my ex wife was living in Milnerton area (2018). A few weeks later, my ex-wife saw an advert of a ring matching the appearance 100% on the internet at Kays antiques. As I will not, and DO NOT acuse Kays Antiques of selling stolen items, I hope we can find the person who sold this ring to Kays, as Kays refuse to give me this informatiom as well as access to the ring/new buyer, so that we can inspect it.I am giving my feedback and rating according to the support and help that Kays offered regarding this issue!Perhaps I am lucky, and get the ring back one day. It was promised to my daughter. Please have a look at the pictures. I also attach the picture from the advert, placed by Kays. (Pictures keep disapearing - please email me if you cannot see the pictures. I will gladly send them by email) The ring on the picture looks 100% the same, including the stone, and the golden band. The ring we lost, originally had a Tanzanite stone, and the gold band was as a result of a repair, done in Knysna. Also find a picture of the ring on the hand of my ex-wife, as well lying on a table. Please help. I will pay a substancial reward. I do not live in South Africa anymore.R10 000 reward for successful arest and prosecution to guilty parties. I hope that Kays will also asist now with this reward in place.Edit on 31 Jan: In responce to your answer on my review, I am quite disappointed that you used our names, especially while you seem to protect the names of criminals, selling alleged stolen goods to the public. I am not going to argue with you. My ex-wife wore the ring for almost 2 decades, so you will not convince me that it is not the same rare antique ring! My ex wife told me on 8 Aug 2018 about the theft, although it happened 3 years before. She saw your advert at the end of July 2018, and spoke tou you on the next Monday, after which you told her that you bought the ring in Dec 2017. You now claim in your responce to have bought the ring in April (???). It is easy to solve this. Let her see the ring, and let her decide. If it is hers, it will give her at least the option to buy it back from the current owner! No woman would like a stolen ring on her finger!! What proof of ownership did the seller (alledged thief) supply to you?Quote from you: Indeed we even initiated contact with SAPS to contact Stefan regarding the procedure that he needed to follow as we wanted to resolve the matter amicably and swiftly - NOT DONE!! Shows you how useless the system is, and that it will be a complete waste of my time to go to the police from where I sit overseas. I dont believe anything you claim in your responce to my review. Leave the judgement to the public.I hope the publuc make 100% sure if the goods are legit when buying from dealers.

Purchased a few items from the shop over time. When asking what the offer value was for a high valued victorian piece, they offered me half of what I originally paid but wasnt interested in the item they had sold to me. A bit disappointing all considering

Absolutely appalling experience - probably rates as the worst experience of my shopping career. I returned an article that was received as a gift but was not a standard I expected from Kays Antiques (a R1000 frame stuck together with sticky tape) and was told I was lying. Check what you buy - it may be flawed - and if you take it back you will be faced with a shouting match and self righteous justification. Not an experience I would recommend.
