This review comes from a much older visit to Supa Mac, I dont think same faces still work here, however I took my car in after my clutch had gone. Firstly the towing fee was absolute insane. R1000 (guessing flat rate) to tow my car to the shop - keep in mind I stay less than 100m from the shop, I literally walk passed it from home whenever I buy my lunch. Then the car was taken in and the job was finished (relatively) quickly. Although I soon found out why it was done so quick. Upon getting my car back, I at first started feeling jumps in my car when shifting gears as well as occasional grinding noises when starting my car. I took it back thinking theyd missed something. They told my I needed to replace an engine mount and it would cost me again as its a wear and tear item. I took the car home and opened the bonnet myself. The issue was infact not an engine mount, but my gearbox top mount had come loose. Note that the mount was perfectly fine (and is still in my car today, 3 years later) but they had gone and put the wrong bolts in to secure my gearbox to the mount and had completely stripped the bolt hole threading. This cost me getting someone out to my home to retap a new, bigger hole and put in a size bigger high tensile steel bolt. Altho this didnt fix the grinding noise when starting the car. This cost me taking it to another mechanic 1 week later again (I wasnt taking it back to supamac after the last time) and he had shown me that my starter motor was not secured. neither of the 2 bolts holding it in place were fastened. At this point in time the bottom 1 had fallen out already and the top 1 was loose with the starter motor hanging on it. Even after resecuring it, I occasionally still had issues with the grinding noise as the teeth on my flywheel got damaged when the starter motor was loose and not engaging right. Few months down the line I had to replace my passenger side CV as well, however when the shop was busy on it, they called me in asking who had worked on the car last. They showed me that there was hordes of sand and dirt on the inside of the CV boot, even though it was well secured and not a single tear in it, when I told him about the clutch job, he immediately replied saying they did a horrible job, and had put the cv down on a dirty floor before reinstalling it again after without even cleaning it, not even attempting to add new grease.So in summary I had to pay just under R10k for a clutch replacement (which other work listed on the job card which after was pointed out to me as clearly not having been done such as an alternator bearing replacement and rear main seal replacement)and then within the next month I had to spend another 2K on more mechanics to fix the stripped mounting issue and the cost of sorting my starter motor.Then a few months down the line I had to cough up another 2K for my CV replacement, which the mechanic had undeniably told me - this was because of the handy work of the clutch replacement people.Again, Im not sure the same face would be around still, this was a few years back - but this is my honest review of the service I had for the one time Id brought my car in. Even if the faces are all new now, Ive lost my faith here and wouldnt want to go back. And to think I was initially referred to them by a friend

Ive Sent my car in for a clutch replacementand the job was done but I found that the reverse switch on the gearbox was left unplugged, ended up plugging it myself

I would advise anybody to stay away from this place you my vehicle went in for service no came out worse then it went in.Some airfilter nuts was missing. There was dents in my diesel filter. The Engine coolent was not in.The list is endless of the problems on my vehicle now.

Paying for a diagnostics, youd think that they would get it right. R8000 later and my car feels worse than ever. Not only is my car not fixed, they spilt oil over the entire front of the vehicle (but why would they clean it, theyre not driving around with it). They gave the car back with a terrible noise and told me it is normal for the type of job they did (replaced the camshaft, rockers, lifters etc) as the car has to be driven in. The communication from Shane and Paul (or should I say the lack thereof) was utterly unacceptable. Save yourself the stress, dont visit not so Supa Mac!

Friendly and efficient. Paul was friendly and polite on the phone when asking for a quote. He again warmly received me when I took the bakkie in for service. Vehicle done at 13pm. Drives like a dream again. Professional and friendly service.

Had my wifes Renault serviced here. Never again. Extra charges were added to the bill not previously cleared with me. Front disks were replaced while they were still virtually new. Coulnt show all the old parts they claimed to have replaced, even though we agreed beforehand they would be kept.

I would highly recommend Supa mac. They are prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. They were very familiar with my problem and fixed it in a efficient and timely manner. I feel like I have just found my forever mechanic

They try to fix a ford bantam, with in the next 30min on the road the vehicle overhead call the machanic to found out they replace the leak radiator pipe with a second hand one few days later got stuck in Langebaan and tow back to workshop to found out it was the timing chain after a struggle they found that the second head was faulty the replace it with another one and up till now bakkie is still in workshop apparently the bakkie idle unleavened so lets hope comming Monday it will be fixed

Not impressed with the service. Took my car for a major service and i dont know if the service was done because they failed to do the settings for the service and my car is still indicating that it needs service. It went there with two warning signs showing and came back with a lot of signs on the displayer. Took it there several time to reset the car systems but nobody was able to set it. Also asked them to fix my aircon, it only came on when i was in front of them but by the time i reach home it doesnt work, i went there more than 3 times to fix it but still not working. And then had a problem with an oil cooler and they said its a problem in the engine and that will cost around 15k only to find out it can be fixed way less than that.

My hubby recommended Supa Mac and I have to say these guys know what they are doing. I think they are really reasonable for the quality of work they deliver. I can highly recommend them.

Very honest and reliable. Would definitely recommend them. Loved the upfront honesty about what I must and must not replace so I saved a few bucks going to them.

Terrible advice and work after taking car in for a once over after a blown radiator pipe.Back bearings not put back on correctly, various water leaks not even looked at, do not believe a compression test on radiator or engine was done. Back breaks not even mentioned despite needing an urgent replacement. Gearbox oil needed replacement as well, and none of this was mentioned! Instead was quoted a long list of issues to be addressed.Also no mention of wear on engine. There to make some money and not give proper advice to potential clients.

Im SUPA happy with these guys. Brought my car in for a major service and thought they were really reasonable but thorough. I have found myself a new master mechanic. They are on the ball! Will be back.

Horrible car place. Took my car for a major service end of 2018 . The day I got it back I noticed that the coolant was clear (as opposed to the red or green it should be), meaning that they didnt even check to see if there was antifreeze in the car.I also checked the power steering fluid reservoir a week later, and it was almost empty. Here I gave them the benefit of the doubt, as I figured it may have leaked out during that time. I topped it up, but now months later it is still at the same level, meaning that they did not check this as well.Terrible terrible service, theyll take your money and do the absolute minimum amount of work, with zero attention to detail. Hope you saw the 200 other things that went the right way.The fact is your shop failed to check the coolant during a major service, a sarcastic reply wont fix that or help your business.

Bad experience. Mechanics could not fix my Merc A1.8. Generic computer to find faults in engin led me to spend thousands of rands and had to go back 3 times. Eventually took Merc to dealer who fixed it for a surprisingly low fee.

Last year sent major service done on car...find out that my car wasnt filled up with coolant properly had to take it back.Got a call saying i need a new clutch, rear brakes and hose clamps .... I said only change the hose clamps. Then later the same day i get a call saying that the clutch is gone... found out that some cables werent reconnected and it just hanging... And that the hose clamps that were changed werent tighten enough and has been leaking all this time...

I took my car to two other garages they couldnt fix my car so I took it too supa Mac they sorted my car they have the top of the range diagnostic equipment thanx super Mac.......excellent service

Supamac fixed my misfiring car quite affordably, now its working great. I also like the detailed invoice, no mysteries as to where the money went :-)

Dont know about services but dont ever take your car to these guys for a magor fix... they cant mount engines back properly, your engine will never be the same after they touch it. plus a car that never broke down once in 10 years suddenly has dirty fuel injectors and broke down a month after these useless people touched it Plus dont expect proof of parts they change since they dont give you back the OLD PARTS... NO PROOF OF ANY CHANGE WHATSOEVER, just BS coming out of their mouths and quotes that double in price every few days after more excuses from staff.

I was impressed that they where open on a public holiday, which fell on a Saterday aswell. I was skeptical about their service as there is a few bad reviews, but once again i realised that people so easliy give bad reviews these days without giving it some thought. They finished my cars major service in 3 to 4 hours and my car was squeaky clean when I picked it up. Although they forgot to stamp my service book and they where already closed when i realised this, the owner made a quick plan to get it stamped for me, no harm, no foul. Well done Supa Mac

I keep on returning with the same problem and everytime they tell me the cause is something else. They broke my coolant level indicator and when i take it back they want to charge ME to fix it. They drain my coolant and fill it with tap water. And after spending thousends of Rands replacing three different parts on three different visits for the same problem that is still not fixed, i gave up on Supa Mac

Waste of money. Went to them for the same suspension issue which costs almost 20k two years ago and all they said is replacement parts does not last as long as original oem parts.They are just there for the money no quality workmanship.Please reconsider if you want to use their services because they dont care.

No customer service. Just making excuses for excuses while I need my vehicle for work. SA Warrants really should not use such people.People stay away here, I explicitly told Frik I was going to get my vehicle and take somewhere where people are serious and want to provide the customer service, but no hell get it right for me soon. I listen eagerly and now wait for just more excuses until the vehicle arrives one day. SIS!Frik contacted me after my review and asked me to contact him if workshop manager does not contact regularly.So lets see how it goes.
