At this stage I only give 3stars, but they are busy with upgrading and then it will be 5stars. Love the pool chalets, need upgrading, but it still was very nice&clean. Love the pools, 1 big cold pool, 1 small cold for children and the natural hot&very hot pools.

Peaceful Scenic and the natural hot mineral Springs are just the very best ever.This was our 4th visit but it was the best as the chalet itself was hygienically clean bedding crockery and cutlery etc were all in an excellent and Covid condusive condition.Loved the peacocks at our kitchen door and springbok and a naughty baboon.The staff were very helpful.The one thing that could be sorted out is those very deep steps that lead down from the chalets 4 onwards as its an accident prone area for the more senior citizens and also level the grass to prevent slipping on the sand after last step.More lighting needed at that point.But as I mentioned the best break away for us.

The Calizdorp Spa is always nice and relaxing. The heat of the water is fantastic warm and very relaxing. Houses clean inside and staff friendly. The place just needs a bit renovation. Will always go back.

The resort is a bit run down, but clean and neat, with good ablutions. We camped here for 3 days and had an enjoyable relaxed stay. The swimming in the hot water pool was most enjoyable. Excellent value for money

Bad and old the unit we stay in eas dusty and nead up date urgently cement fall off the rooftops and walk ways really i never will visit it ever again. We stay in other places around for less that is beter and have tvs and people that also stay over was noisy ,ay music till after 23hour i have to drink a sleeping pill realy bad vibe our 2 plate stove did not work think twice before you visit

I know this spa for 20 years go every time to this place is quite and beautiful view .This hot spring is the best springwater in Southafrika and i know all hotspring in Southafrika. All the healthy mineral in.

The pools are very nice and hot. So if you going for the pools, its perfect. The accomodation can do with a bit of a nicer touch and the overall upkeep of the place is a bit neglected. Bit at the end of the day its nice for a weekend and not longer

We had a romantic weekend in mind but our neighbors on both sides were having a massive party and couldnt even sleep, this continued into the early hours of the morning. There are only two warm pools and personally it was a waste of time and money. To top it off it takes just over a month to get your money back as we decided to cut our stay short.

A wonderful, affordable getaway. Had the best time there. Definitely going again, but the facilities could do with an upgrade.

The contrast of Karoo hills with the greenery and pools is great! The chalets are very basic, but the area is spacious and safe.Kids and adults can enjoy the warm mineral rich pools as well as large cold pools. Tame springbok and cats wander around the lawns and the nights are brightly starred and quiet.

Could do with an upgrade.. Road to resort very bad. Very far out of town.only basic products at the tuckshop.it was summer and the water was to hot to relax in, maybe the place will be more enjoyable in winter

The kids had a blast. Its safe for the kids to walk to the pools in the evening. The staff are friendly and the shop is well stocked for any of your needs.

Accommodation very basic for very high price. Not even dishwashing liquid provided or a sharp knife. However the chalet was very clean

Love the hot water at night the chalets are basic but pretty run down. The whole complex requires invigorating.

Scenic spot for a bit of peace and quiet. Running water & electricity a must have for me and the fans in the bedroom and living area added to the comfort levels. Immaculate swimming pools for adults and a safer one for kids let you cool off during the day. There are naturally heated mineral pools for when it gets a bit chilly ! Peacocks, Springbok and lots of cats roam through the place. Bring mosquito nets and or cremes if youre sensitive! Beds are utilitarian, yet comfy. You might want to bring your faveourite pillow / duvet.

Calitzdorp spa is a lovely place to enjoy the natural hot springs and has both chalets and camp sites. It isnt as well maintained as it used to be years ago and is a bit run down these days. Day visitors tend to spoil the experience. I would rather go the Karoo Water next door.

A little bit of upgrate will do the trick.

Love this place because the water is natural and not heated artificially. Also not crowded out and decent camping plots. Springbok herd here and several options for accommodation in chalets. Staff very pleasant.

Nice nature and natural. However R600 out of season = no towels, no braai grid (rent at extra cost), no washing detergent for dishes, not even a candle for when the power is off. Linen is washed but full of marks. There is an apparent lack of management.

Not to bad for a 2 day weekend, if you just want to get away from the city, 1 kiddies pool, 1 adult pool , 1 hot pool. The facilities looks run down has not been maintained. Basic facilities at the chalets. No mirror if you planning to shave bring one along. Other than the pools there wasnt much activities for the kids. Hence the low rating but if you just looking to get away for a weekend then try it out. Once only

Use to be a very nice warm water spa , but very neglected and lack of manage support. swimming pools hot and cold very nice .Use to stay in the luxury bungalows and also camping .But for what you pay and get not worth wile

Weekends is a no-go. Load music and parties is allowed, and at the cost of everyone else who was looking for a peaceful weekend. New warm pools is great.

Spa has all the possibilities. Water is always hot. Nice cold pools too. Are kept tidy as possible. Spacious camping sites with springbucks as daily visitors. Nice hiking possibilities and drives to Kruisrivier.

This was our worst nightmare the website and the reality is miles from each other the first nr 27 when entering a bad smell dirty bath can not even stand up in bath 2nd opion the helpful lady give us nr 1 no tv hot inside no air please indicate on website no facilities and post a pic of your appartments inside. I paid at once for accomadation but have to wait 30 days for refund with no 30 pay back garantee. Will i promote your place NO NO . Have to look for other acoommadation that same day because of your accommadation is not up to standard. Thanks

Pools are wonderful,sad that the surrounding areas are maintained so poorly ,hopefully after the repairing of the road the management of the Spa will be more efficient

You seriously need to pull up your socks, the place was so empty during January 2015 Holidays. One of the toilets in the main building had poo all over it and it was like that for more than 1 day???? No toilet paper in main building. Music being played by campers until late that we could hear down by the pool area.On a positive note: The pool area was well maintained.I visited Calitzdorp about 10 years ago and it was amazing, what happened? Unless you sort it out I can see this beautiful venue closing.

Very peacefull,and calming.Just missed the feral cats.Last year there.were alot but only saw 4 this year.Hope no cruelty was involved.

Comfortable chalet, nice hot water pool. Pity about the rowdy guests, drinking and fighting. Spoils it.

Its just so piecefull and the water is great for arthritis etc. Prices are great too compared to other Spas.

This is an awesome place,the cold pools are sparkling, the hot pool is very hot as it is the temperature at which it bubbles from the earth, this place begs for proper management to turn it into the 5star facility it could be, nobody was available to show us the chalets, the day facilities for picnics are beautiful, only a tuck shop on the premises, so take whatever you need with you

Very fun place to camp but the pool water is brownish, its not dirty but it takes getting used to the brownes 😂

Fantastic weekday stay, weekends can be challenging.

Made use of the camping area, it was quite clean and open. There were springbok, tortoise and cats roaming the grassy area. The inside hot bath was way too hot for any normal person to sit in. The restaurant was closed and unfortunately we missed the wooden hut too by the time we realised there was no other food for purchase. The cold pools were clean enough, except for a bit of algae on the sides - a good scrub needed here. The road to the spa before the turnoff was terrible which didnt make for a good start. Admin service was terrible - my calls went unanswered and my email was only responded to 2 days after that with the majority of my queries being ignored as I was only sent a booking form - with increased rates different to their website - even while taking peak rates into account.
