We make sure we stop as family to relax at Bella de Karoo to enjoy the home made goodies and breakfast and special vibe in the peaceful Karoo rest stop. Our dog also get VIP treatment and the garden with things to see for the kids a huge bonus. Thank you to the friendly and welcoming staff and dont forget the roosterkoek etc.

One of the best restaurants to enjoy a good home cooked meal enroute the beautiful R62. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. A nice farm atmosphere. Indeed worth to visit.

We love this place. The food is good, real home made with love. I had the bean soup and the first sip took me straight back to my aunts kitchen in front of the wood burning stove on a cold winters day. Do visit the bathroom, it is very interesting 😉

We stayed in the rustic but very comfortable mountain hut on the conservancy with forever views over an endless chain of blue mountains. No electricity, just candles, campfire and trillions of stars and jackals calling in the distance. Pure Karoo magic.

What a great place on Route 62 to stop for breakfast, lunch or a snack. The roosterkoek sandwiches are exquisite. The place is beautifully decorated and the owner very welcoming. Do not pass it without stopping.

We had such a warm welcome on arrival at this jewel of a place by Emile. Great conversation and friendly fast service. We had the most delicious Rooster Koeke, which we could not finish, and had to take a doggie bag. As we were about to leave Emiles wife Leatitia also arrived. It was just impossible to leave without having anther pleasent chat. This is such a lively venue with the most awesome people. A must visit...and do feel free to stay over in the beautiful accomodation.

Heading from Oudtshoorn on our way to Barrydale, my friends Harley Davidson broke down (no surprise there :) right outside the entrance to Bella de Karoo.The owners immediately jumped to our assistance and Hennie helped the tired Harley to a comfortable spot where they proceeded to diagnose the problem which was a clutch issue.As we were not going to make our destination, Bella de Karoo welcomed us with open arms and made two rooms available. It was getting late and their kitchen was closing but not a problem, they made us a meal which we could take to the rooms to eat later (rooms are self catering).The units were tastefully decorated, very clean and had a rustic charm. The outside area is relaxed and looks like it caters for large groups too. The food was pleasant and plentiful.The next morning, after frantically trying to hire cars and taxis to get my riding companions to Cape Town, we heard the sound of a harley.. the owner had woken early and manage to repair it.Bella de Karoo.. you guys rock. Thank you for going out of your way to make us feel welcome and getting us back on the road.

Our bushmans ashes broke at Bella Karoo. It couldnt have been a better place for it to break. Hennie (owner / manager) is one of the friendliest / helpful people we have ever met. We stayed overnight in Bella de Karoor and it was lovely and very fair. Hennie also fixed our forest wagon at almost no cost. What a karoo rockstar!
