Attending a wedding. Great venue, loads of room for guests, great atmosphere. Slight issue with water (no hot water in some rooms), but Im sure its something the venue can and will improve on. Flawless otherwise

Really nice place to get away for a weekend. Friendly and hospitable staff. Food is really good. Accommodation is comfortable, clean, and tidy. The are so much open space to relax in. Large pretty gardens, next to the river, or at the swimming pool.We are definitely going to come again.

Beautiful setting along the river and set up to cater for large groups and weddings. A bit of gravel road to get there but in decent condition.Riding or running along the district roads is safe and the views are breathtaking.Food was good and service was friendly. Rooms were clean bathrooms are clean and user friendly. Many of the rooms have multiple beds for groups where people want to share to save costs. Linen and beds are great quality and comfort. Bring your own coffee, tea and milk. Rooms do have fridges, cups and a kettle.

Good venue for large groups with different accommodation options ranging from family rooms to bunks in dorms. Peaceful surroundings. The dirt roads from here give you three options for 20km MTB rides on gravel.

Visited Meulstroom for a Friday noon to Sunday morning weeding with a large group of guests from all around the world and had a lovely time. The views of the surroundings were beautiful, and climbing around and swimming in the rapids made us feel close to nature. The room we had was adequate, with basic amenities. The shower felt more like summer camp from my youth than a hotel, with spotty heat and difficulties adjusting. Coffee beyond the most basic instant coffee was not available, which I was a bit disappointed by, but the catering for the wedding was very good.

I was very impressed with Meulstroom. Wish it was my place.

Meulstroom is a wonderful venue, we had a 3 day wedding function there and the staff was working around the clock to have every thing 110% ready all the time, even with working around the weather challenges, group hikes and change in plans the whole crew at Meulstroom jumped in and contributed to one heck of a three days. The first time I was in the area, I drove past and had 40th birthday party. This time I was part of one of the best, biggest wedding ceremonies that I was part of since covid started. The staff is all very specific to the covid conduct and handled all the rules well, tables were placed spaciously away from each other and there was no issue with finding place to put your drink down. One big requirement that I think you should do is always consider sleeping over to have their great breakfast the morning after before taking the road home.

Went here for our schools gr11 leadership camp and had a wonderful time! The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and comforting and the scenery was beautiful!

Meulstroom Lodge was great!!! The room are spacious and clean. The service was very friendly and the food was also good. They have this great view of the river(I dont know the name of the river) and it was amazing to just sit and drool over the creation of God.

Meulstroom Lodge sets a new level in options for getting away from the rat race and stresses of everyday life. Thatched buildings are edged by rolling lawns, jewelled with two swimming pools that overlooking a river that loops around the whole complex. A perfect, beautiful setting for escaping from the world for awhile. The rooms are each neatly laid out with comfortable sleeping arrangement and small kitchenette with its own fridge. The En suite bathroom is neat with shower basin and loo.The complex has a several communal halls and a huge dining room providing good quality foodThis venue is perfect for Spiritual or Religious retreats. Team building weekends and because of the stunningly beautiful setting an excellent wedding venue.

Went here for a full weekend wedding. I was greatly impressed by the staff service, friendliness, food, and accommodation. I highly recommend considering Meulstroom for your future wedding. The only downsides would be the 10km dirt road (which is just long, and not actually bad as far as dirt roads go) and the cash bar that doesnt accept cards. Bring lots of cash.Really hope to be invited to a wedding here again, even if I have to pay.

The beauty of this place took my breath away. There is plenty of rooms and each room accommodates two. The food is really delicious, Im impressed.

What a beautifull place.We stayed in rooms a hop skip from a cascading river. The only word to describe it: Idyllic!The rooms are neat and the bathrooms are clean.Do yourself a favor and go for the catering. The food was definitely one of the highlights of our stay there.Great for group events and as a wedding venue.

5stars for nature and 3 for the venue. This is not your topical world class service. Its very localised and bare to the minimal. You dont come here to sleep all day watching TV...you better off in a hotel. There is ample space for kids to run around exploring all day. Great hikes and nature walks at own risk. enough spiders scorpions and snakes to keep you safe at night lol.lastly...you can completely miss this place if you like some greens on your plate. Breakfast is for carnivores served with okish coffee. staff friendly enough not to feel too processed. Aside from all said...if you have a big like huge family family and love the outdoors this is the prefect place to really get to dial it home and go deep inn.

Perfect conference location

This place has beautiful surroundings. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are neat. My only big concern was that the room doesnt have a window. This makes for the room to get mouldy rather quickly.

I went with a group of people for a week and our rooms were not cleaned daily and we were limited when food was served was served. Towels were not changed on a daily basis.But the space was really beautiful and peaceful.

I had an amazing church camp at a beautiful camp site

Rigid rules combined with Lacklustre service delivery and the feel of a cheap hotel from the 70s makes me wonder how this place is still in business. Very unimpressed.

I stayed here for 4 days and their service was excellent , It would really surprise me if someone would dislike this beautiful place, I can even rate it to be one of beautiful guest house in South Africa .

Meulstroom is a wonderfully positioned venue, on the banks of a small river with a roaming hippo. The sunset views and morning mists are spectacular and there are many lavender surrounded benches to watch from. For not having that big of a space, Meulstroom caters quite well with the space available. Jungle gyms for kids, set up arches which are beautiful for photos and a very decent amount of room space that doesnt feel too cramped. Food was rather pleasant for camp food and the bar had a reasonable quantity of liquor. One of the biggest benefits is all the nooks and crannies and small pathways to walk through or to read a book in. The tuck-shop sold Ice cream cones were a great alleviation for the hot days.

It is a very nice place and enjoy ur self orwit family.

Meulstroom and its staff is carved from a very special type of wood. Thank you for your hard work in making even the most difficult and un great full group of church ladies s camp the best. In all my career I have never seen such bad behaviour and disrespect towards a venue and its staff as what I have experienced this weekend. I take my hat off to this amazing venue and will recommend Meulstroom to everyone and anyone in the group event industry.

This place qualifies to be called a hidden treasure. Its very close to Gauteng/Mpumalanga borderline. Beautiful, rich with natural beauty, has a stream running through it. You forget about city life when youre there.
