Awesome Venue!!!!!!!Well maintained waters and surroundings, great for a weekend get away.Waters are challenging, well most of the time, but when you get on the fish it is well worth the effort. Stunning and healthy fish awaits the angler that work hard to find them. Small dams, but plenty of areas, open waters, margins and sometimes within the reeds and snaggy areas will you find the fish.Venue is runs by Fishermen, for the Fishermen, and they do so with the greatest love of the sport.Will see me soon again and as often as possible.Thanks Julio and Kevin for keeping it a GEM!!!!!!

The wife and I had a great weeks fishing at bottom lake in mid May, got cold at night but that didnt stop the fish from biting, we found most the bites coming morning, around 5pm and 2am, we both broke our PBs a couple times. Here are some of our catches.Grounds are clean and some small buck and hairs can be spotted in the evenings. Although only a portaloo on the bank side the main ablutions are spacious and clean.

One of the best fishing venues We have seen! I loved how the manager could assist us with some great knowledge about the dam and some extra tips and tricks for the future.Beautiful neat area for fishing and camping with clean ablution blocks + warm showers. I would definitely recommend Academy-lakes for anglers who care about the wellness of the fish.Some beautiful bass and carps just waiting for you. 🤞🏼

What a stunning venue. As South Africans, safety is always our top priority and Academy Lakes has strict protocols when entering and exiting, as well as security patrolling throughout the day and night. The fishing is excellent as well, with camping available at 2 different lakes. There are also many smaller ponds to keep yourself or the little ones entertained. The management of the venue are also highly knowledgeable and are always keen to assist. A new addition is a tuck shop, as well as prepared baits being available. This venue is highly recommended for both the experienced and novice specimen carp angler.

This Venue is everything a specimen angler is looking for from a beautiful and clean ablution, very well maintained venue throughout, excellent and friendly staff and then most importantly the Lake (Top and Bottom) that always produces beautiful carp. To top it off, one feels safe here and you can truly enjoy the tranquility and beauty the Venue is offering. Both thumbs up to Management and staff .. Keep it up guys 👍👍🎣

One of the best venues in and around the big and busy city. Less than an hours drive to a safe and secure venue with everything that you would want in a specimen venue. Perfect for a weekend breakaway or a small holiday in the lovely setting that is nature. The venue has multiple dams to test your bass fishing skills, sandwiched in between the two main specimen carp fishing lakes. The venue is perfect for new and seasoned fishermen, with the managing staff always happy to give advice and point you in the right direction to land your next personal best. All the swims are now equipped with electricity points with management promoting a bunch of new improvements still to come in the future! The dam has a stocking pond stocked with a few new residents that will keep us all entertained in the furure when they are moved into the main lakes as they reach the adequate size. The venue is perfect for the female fishermen/your better half with its well equipped bathrooms that is always in pristine condition. In summary a great venue to visit and enjoy the tranquility of mother nature. Can not wait for my next trip to the lakes and to see all the improvements that the future holds!!!

Stunning and safe venue, with some immaculate fish. Very trying and testing venue but once the code is cracked the spoils are definitely revealed and worth every minute spent on the banks. Highly recommend booking a session!

Great venue and well maintained. Alas no fish but we learnt a lot about the dam and fish habits over the 2 days spent here.

What an awesome Venue!!!!! Ive enjoyed my time there and will always be going back.Staff member Mr Kevin with great knowledge about specimen angling and always helpful!!!!BOOKING...super simple and easy they make it so easy, What makes it more exciting is that if you maybe dont have a sling or whatever they provide you with for the duration of your stay. They give great advice and points you in promising areas so you knick a bite😀😀😀😀😀Its very safe there all you need is on site from hook baits to feed they really put in a lot and if you lazy to braai.........theres take aways available.And a big one for most guys theres electricity for your wifes and kids!!! Awesome place for speciman fishing with some fat sallies hiding out there. Very very clean with amazing kind and good hearted staff. Would recommend 10/10. Even wify enjoyed the overnighter due to how beautiful it is there. My current pb is held at top lake with a 9.98kg mirror

Academy Lakes - Is honestly the safest and cleanist venue for you and your family to catch some nice fatties and some Koi. Another great feature is their tuck shop/restaurant - You dont have to worry about food and drink ;-). What an AMAZING getaway from the hussle and bussle!! Love it!!

Greate dam to learn to start Specimen angling. Friendly management that likes to help you and assist you with fishing. If you like Bass fishing as well al dams are stocked with Bass and Kurper. Will really recommend giving them a try as they are well equipped with the knowledge to assist you when you are starting off in the specimen scene 👍🏻 Thight lines.
