Rubbish home affairs. Opens at 8am but 8:15 still outside busy cleaning. Nothing said to us. Closes at 3:30pm. Why not clean then or by 7am. Sign of bad service to come

Horrible experience. The staff are lazy very very unfriendly and of no help. All they do is talk and talk and dont really do any work. The systems are almost always offline and they have this attitude of We dont Care

I have been to this department many times for various things, often its very busy, but things always move along nicely. I have always been met by the staff with smiles and respect. Security does a great job directing people.Many thanks and keep it up.

Great Service!! Clean & modern facility with efficient, prompt and friendly staff. I applied for my new ID-card and Passport in less than 45min. I was able to pay with my debit card. No forms to complete, and they take their own digital photos. My goodies ready for collection in less than 7 days. Renewed confidence in this department. Well done!

The service was good as I had to apply for Id passport and birth certificate. I was assisted within an hour and a half. I must commend the security lady. She deserves a job as she goes out of her way to direct the people through the process.Not a bad experience at all,but please fix your speedppoint and the overhead screen. Some people are deaf and cannot hear their numbers being called. It will be nice to read your number when being called. The automated voice system is not clear, e.g sixty sounds like fifty possibly due to distortion.Nevertheless, I expected to wait several hours. I was truly surprised and thankful. Well done and keep it up

The staff are really friendly. I arrived for both application and collection an hour before they opened. For application of ID and Passport you fill out a form outside - (bring a pen!) and get allocated a number. Once inside it took in all an hour. Which I dont think is too bad. My passport and ID was ready 9 days later - you have to collect in person because you need to do biometrics. Collection once inside took 45minutes. I did not need to take any photos and I had the option to pay by card.

The second star is only for the guy taking your picture at the back! The staff doesnt communicate with the people they are supposed to serve. They are rude and for half hour there was only ONE person serving everyone. If I did such a bad job and my work, Ill get fired! The lack of respect for the client is what gets me. From start to finish, my kids British Passports arrived 3 days before their SA passports! #badservice

Thanxs to the security lady who organises the flow from outside to inside - friendly and sufficient. After trying to apply for card id at 4 other offices this place is definitely to be recommended. Friendly service and we were in and helped within the hour. BUT then the ordeal started - waited for the cashier to do payment for at least 2 hours further in the day!! What a dissapointment this was unfortunetly🤔 The cashier needs to catch up with the rest of the staff. The display board worked well and we could do card payment.

I really would like to know why you have to stand in a que to collect after been standing for an hour no one has even made the attempt to come and help anyone in this que. This should be a simple process. But I guess tea time and lunch time is more important.This is so frustrated.Please fix this so called department of home affairs.

I have just spent 3 hours trying to collect my ID book!Did not even get in the door. There is no system. There is no seating outside. If I had got inside, I would be given a number and have to wait for it to be called!I cannot stand that long. I have back problems. The security staff do not explain how they randomly select the next person to get in.

I used to always say that Brakpan home affairs was brilliant... until today!!!Terrible service, ridiculously long wait (almost 3 hours) and they have terrible attitudes!Please bring the staff back that used to work here about 6 months ago because they ran this place incredibly!!!!!!

I cant say there is bad service, as there needs to be service for a rating. There is no helpful staff. I have experienced brakpan home affairs lack of service several times. Every time Im here, I see unhappy people and a lack on concern from 95% of the staff.. Ive been in the queue from 7am, entered just past 8, it is now quarter past 9 and Im still waiting to collect my ID.

There are NO separate queue for collection of passport of ID. I stood in the queue for 4 hours and eventually left. This should take max 1hour.Can somebody do something about this pathetic service @ the Brakpan office ????

Well spoken and trained staff, clean office. Not open until 8pm only till 4pm. Afternoons seems quieter than the mornings. Great experience overall.

Visited this office for my ID. Was told it would be ready in 2 weeks. Never recieved any sms to inform me my ID was ready for collection. Returned today 30 minutes before opening time onoy to find a que of about 100 people. Decided not to waist my time on this pathetic and inefficient offife.

Got send here from the Benoni office cause their scanners dont work, as you get there everyone is standing in a que that doesnt move and once you manage to unlock the mouth of the security guard at the closed door you are told we are offline a government that does NOT work, shocking

I took my daughter-in-law yesterday, the 8th of August. According to the website the office is in Kingsway Avenue. It is not! A helpful petrol pump attendant finally directed us after I had ridden around for ages. We had to wait ages after our photos were taken and then the computer system bombed out while the lady was taking my fingerprints. As my granddaughter was with the other granny, we could not wait in case the system came online again and so I will have to take another trip. Thank goodness my daughter-in-law was able to complete her application. Can Home Affairs please update their addresses as I had a similar problem with trying to find the Benoni office some years ago. Ill change my rating when DHA changes their web page.

They close the doors by 3:30 or earlier if busy. Dont bank on closing time being 4pm. You might have to go multiple times inorder to get your work done, as they are frequently offline, or you have some procedure incorrect. DO TAKE CORRECT AMOUNT OF MONEY TO PAY as they DONOT give any change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So far they are faster than BENONI homeaffairs and much friendlier staaf!

This is a worst office ever!I did an amendment for my babys birth certificate November 2017 and they told me it will be ready in 6 months.I came in May 2018 for collection I was told it was not ready,the daddys details were not captured.I was there today the guy who assisted me after 4 hours of waiting told me the same thing..the daddys details were not captured,so I have to wait for 4 to 6 weeks.Im very irritated,this office deserves 0 rating instead!
