Used to have quick service.Not sure if Covid 19 has affected how things used to be.Now they cut off people waiting in the queue ☹️I still believe there are good people who are dedicated to helping others there.

Its been almost 8 weeks waiting on birth certificate for our new born baBY IS ALMOST 2MONTHS MONTHS now and still no feedback or call.i advise everyone to got to Benoni, staff at boksburg are rude and not helpful at all. they are hardly on the counters, imagine just to print a baby certificate. you need to wait this long. even now im still waiting..

Pathetic service. This review doesnt even deserve a star. Maybe a -1 star. It has been 4,50 hours later and we are still waiting to COLLECT our Smart Card ID in the sun. Been here on Wednesday and was told to come back later after we waited 3 hours. Staff is NOT HELPFUL OR FRIENDLY. Wont recommend anyone to come to this Home Affairs EVER !!! 😡🤬😠😤

Well you can expect that this is one of the busiest departments of our government however. Boksburg home affairs is fast on delivery. We love the staff. Theres nothing we can do about the long queues.

Standing outside in the sun, only to get in given a number and they cant help you. Phoned them 3 days in a row no answer and then phone again and the phone is busy. So someone is there just doesnt feel like answering. Customer Care is Bad. Then they give you a Attitude....

Too full and the service is appaling as in the neighboring department of Labour, unemployed people queue up from 5am till around 4pm and have to return several times before being attended to, while also losing a lot of money they dont earn to travel there almost daily. Pathetic service in government departments for the people who voted this non service oriented staff at these centers.

Applied for an ID application for my younger brother close to 2 months ago. After enquiring why its taking so long to receive it via telephone, decided to go to home affairs to enquire, only for them to tell us that they dont have our application and we have to start from scratch. So disappointed

Most amazing experience here. I needed a passport ASAP, and a lovely man named Gideon Geel assisted me in applying for the passport and receiving it within 2 working days. He showed so much dedication to assist me in getting my things together on time. When I went to collect it, he even knew my ID number off by heart- that’s how many times he phoned head office to query where it was. Thank you thank you thank you!

Dont assist us disabled pensioners and I had to leave due to my medical condition after almost 4hrs of queing and my 72 year old wife with back and leg problems has suffered.I tried to explain to the security officer my heart condition and ICD implant but has not consider to help. Is this the type of service for the disable and eldery?

Friendly staff, the white lady at enquiries had the biggest smile on her face and was very patient with everyone explaining the process. Ticket system very good. Will only use this branch in future. Keep up the excellent customer service !!!

This place really needs to be investigated. I have never experienced such bad behavior of the workers. For a whole month we were trying to get an id for my son. When you go there they say the system is off. It looks like if you go there after one in the afternoon the system goes off. Today I went there again waited for 2 and a half hours outside. When I went in the lady told us the collections is closed we must come back on Monday. Why could they not tell us in the first place when we were waiting outside. If you ask one of the workers something. They wil look uou up and down and very arrogantly say you must go stand in a row. There is more than one row. So you dont know if its the right row. It is really bad service.

Disappointing, pathetic and a disgrace. Been there from 7:25AM yesterday morning for my sons first time ID and only left after 3PM. Long queues and they are working very slow. A non-existent ticket system where people appear that were not in the que and where helped. Only way to describe the staff is ineffective, in competent and useless. I hated every minute and will never go back to the Boksburg Home Affairs, even if you pay me.

What a discrace of South Africa... Was there with my new born baby to register her a few weeks ago .. These people have no interest in helping you . Was there from 6:30 to 14:00 with the baby .. Daleen Jooste kept sending us back for ridiculous excuses to do her work.. She went home at 12.. And the other people also in no rush to help us... No interest at all.. Not even sure why they come to work

Pathetic and poor service.My son (5 years old )and I were standing from 9:40 in the que for an hour in the sun.When we came to the front of the row -after standing a whole hour in the sun, - the security guard then suddenly was interested in what we wanted to do.Guess what...No first time IDs, No PassportsScanner has not been working now for three weeks...My rights as an South African is being violated, because I cannot get a passport.A passport which gives me the freedom to be with my loved ones if there was a funeral.BECAUSE THE SCANNER BROKE...AND we are waiting for the new financial year.WHAT!!??!!??!!What MR PRESIDENT is happening???When finally we got inside, we were made standing against a wall for two hours. With no assistance.When I went to ask when we will be assisted, I was told with a big smile and lots of attitude What kind of assistance do you want? The system is off this was said by the immagrant officer. He was busy chatting with the lady who I asked. And no the system was not off. There was ONLY ONE lady who helped ALL the people. It is RIDICULOUS!!!!!AND GUESS WHATI went to that horrible incompetent place, for a passport and an unabridged birth certificate for my son and I.I couldnt get the passport, BECAUSE THE SCANNER BROKE...When I looked tonight at the birth certificate, it was the wrong birth certificate.I went, I ticked unabridged birth certificate, they gave me a normal birth certificate.Now, I must go back to that horrible incompetent place.Dear Minister, is there maybe something that can be done? Anyone who thinks that this office deserves a single star has no concept of client service. 8 hours of waiting in a line. To few staff their system takes 5 min to process a request and only half the service points are staffed at a time. Make sure to bring food and water along or you will doe before getting anything.

The worst experience of my life, 4 hours on my feet, and no one has seen me yet. Government treat South Africans like cows. 2 hours in the sun................ 7 hours and still waiting it is now 3.00 .. Now I receive messages that I have not paid, while I have the receipt,??????????? After going to their offices again, now 2 days leave have being taken, I was told by the call center to go back to the office despite my receipt number?????????????????? Due to human error my money wS allocate to another person. I have received my money back, and had to pay again, another 2 hours from work. Hopefully everything will run smoothly and I will be able to pick up my ID. I also learned something today from the Dept. Fraud does not exist, it is only human error.The noise in the office is so bad, one cant hear the numbers being called ........... At 1:00 the Dept were not taking new applicants.I went to fetch my ID, the gentleman at the door told me they were closed at 3:17. I Left like an idiot, but decided to go back and see a Manager, their offices closes at 3:30 but they are se du. People away when they feel the amount of people inside is too full.???????? Thank God I got my ID, there were no queue at the collections.

Stood from 7h00 till 13h15 on the pavement in direct hell hor sun. Only to be told right infront of entrance that I wont be helped. Just saying was with a 7yr old. Even worse was moms with infants, elderly and disabled persons in that sun. No communication at all. I am disgusted to say the least. I eventually had moms with infants sitting in my car for bits to breastfeed and get them out of the sun. Aircon on. Surely there should be a better way. Arent they running departments eg id, passports, births ect. Surely the can manage better. This was a day from hell.

I was never told my passport was ready so kind of forgot about. When I called to find out if I can collect it, they told me it was destroyed. I decided to go to Heidelburg to get a new one only to find out my passport was still active. I called boksburg home affairs from Heidelburg and they were nice enough to explain the whole situation the the staff here and sorted it all out for me. I was very impressed.

Im so frustrated with this place, they dont do their jobs correctly, waiting for my kidz unabridge birth certificates for over a year now, witch means they never send my forms to the head office to be processed.... Got 2 case nrs later and still have to wait another 2 weeks 😡 this place is hopeless and definitley dont have any care in the world about service or the need to help. In my eyes they dont even deserve to be open at all !!!!

I went into home affairs over a month ago to lodge my divorce, I was told to check in 3 weeks and that it should show. Today I phoned the call centre and was informed that my forms were never even sent through to head office!!!!! This is terrible service... Now I have to take off again to go through the entire process because of someones incompetency to do their job that they get paid to do!!! Pathetic!

Dont even bother trying to phone these people. If you need to get something done, go to Liza (Elizabeth) Pretorius at the offices. She tries to be helpful but is often let down by her colleagues. Xenophobic, incompetent and horrible staff as a general rule.

This place needs a serious intervention from the national home affairs office. The staff are really unhelpful and they re forever offline. Been to this place on 3 occassions to apply for an ID, past 2 occassions my application could not be processed as they went offline.May be the entire place should be closed down and refurbished as its very difficult to understand which queue one should follow as its not demarcated.

We were at Home affairs Boksburg today just to have my ID done ... waited 5 hours and when we got in the last row they said that the internet had gone down 3 hours already and that we should come back tomorrow with the knowing that we must do everything tomorrow from the beginning, EVERYTHING!
