Great place with a great couple that owns the place. Food is very nice and also the prizes. One of the best views over the river. The sun sets there is spectacular. Fishing is also very nice right in front of the Lodge.

It is the most fabulous place to stay on the Vaalriver, and the owners are very caring and attentive, and the food is excellent!!

Its a place to relax after a long drive

The owners make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Lovely well stocked bar with high chairs and tables/chairs overlooking the Vaal river.The staff are friendly and helpful. Nice Restaurant for more intimate sit down meals. A comprehensive menu that is reasonably priced. Clean restrooms. Very secure Kiddies play area. Swimming pool and deck with wooden tables/seating.Accommodation available as well.Just a nice place all round. I visited every day and enjoyed myself very much.

It is a beautiful place. Staff not all that polite and friendly. We waited a bit long for our food. It was our first time. We walked in and wasnt sure if it was allowed. Every gate was closed. The owner was standing a bit in the property but wasnt welcoming. The view make up for alot.

They went above and beyond for us. The staff, the owner and even Grandpa made us feel like family.

A lovely little place to sleep over for one night. Prices are good with great food at the restaurant.I specialy appreciate the extra effort the staff did to come in a bit earlier to make me breakfast as I was traveling for work.

I have been here a couple of times. What a nice and cozy place to be next to the vaal river. A very pleasant place with a view looking over the river with a lovely environment. Just a pity that they have the worst service around. Went there again yesterday for a quick meal after arriving from Johannesburg. What bad service. Wanted to sit at a table but found it dirty and sticky due to the previous evening drinking. I went to another table but found that most of the chairs dirty. Waiters do not clean tables after customers leave before the next arrive. Waitresses and personnel are definitely not trained by management to be prompt and sufficient. I ordered a pizza after the waitress recommended it. I received it 80 minutes later with it flouting in the source which means that it was not prepared well. At that stage i was so hungry that i just ate it. The worst service that i have ever encountered. Not a very pleasant place to visit if you require good service. The service fee is included in the bill without the clients consent and that the reason why waiters are so passive. Enjoy your visit.

Lekka spot to take off your flipflops and relax! Wonderful view, delicious food, fantastic non-alcoholic bar selection during lockdowns and a superb team of welcoming staff makes it feel like a comfy home right on the Vaal! There is safe parking as well.

The owners are very friendly and staff and management go out of their way to make it a nice experience. Its on the riverbank and a good spot for fishing. We were a group of 25 people and we all had a very good experience. I would high recommend Plek Vanni Visarend as a first choice for accomodation in Bloemhof. Trucks goes through Bloemhof and some of the other accommodation has this problem but Plek Vanni Visarend is away from the busy roads. This place is number one in my books
