The Edge is a wonderful restaurant. Youd live the view of most parts of Bloemfontein from their balcony. Their staff are very friendly. I always take my visitors to have at least 1 meal (preferably in the evening as the view is the most beautiful by 🌙 night time). Once a year, I take my old ladies ❤ there (my mother and her cousins💗) and people never hear the end of it throughout the year 😅😜. Its a marvelous place 👌🏽

Tried to get there but the guard at the front gate of the reserve demanded a cool drink and became quiet insistent about it.I turned round and drove off. Sorry but if this is how visitors are treated then count me out.

Fantastic view of Bloemfontein and beautiful sunset. But restaurants ambiance was very disappointing, loud music, no tablecloths, no pictures on the walls.Food too was disappointing, no side bread was served with the starter (as was indicated on the menu as part of the dish), dessert was off (dairy component), and two of the enquired about dishes from the menu was not available.Wine was very overpriced. Overall not a cheap outing.Waiter was friendly and helpful, but owner was said to come around to our table after we complained about the dessert, but he did not come.

The view is breathtaking. The space is ideal for small private functions. The food and drinks were okay, (I was little disappointed). The service was slow and the staff seemed inexperienced. The restaurant needs to review their menu and extent their beverage list/offers, for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The state of their bathroom is heartbreaking. The bathroom is tucked in a small tight corner, it is poorly lit, the taps were not working, one of the doors didnt close properly and the floor was wet.

Nice view, perfect sunset breeze. Nicely lit, brackground music is on point, you can hear the people youre with, but cant evesdrop.The food is mediocre at best. But its value for money if you want to dine on a budget.The service is slow, so dont go hungry. The waiters are not efficient (or maybe they are understaffed). Had to remind my guy to bring me my drink.To avoid disappointments, make a reservation as the capacity is not great.I think the company you bring makes the experience worthwhile.Go catch the sunset with Madiba ✊🏾

This is a relatively new restaurant in Bloemfontein that offers a unique experience apart from the others in the area however it clasps at that selling point for all its worth and masquerade as a high end up market restaurant. Food is not bad but portion size is small and sides were doused in oil. Overall not bad but different that usual.

If it ever was classy, it is not anymore. The sun blinds you in every which way, blinds that allow for a continued view are a thing. The bathroom has no toiletpaper, the taps dont work, tissue all over the floor and the door is broken. And to add to this wonderful, classy experience, the music blasts constantly.One positive :great food.

The best view in Bloemfontein! I love that the seating in this restaurant is not too crowded. You can get an uninterrupted view of the sunset on the deck. Unfortunately, the service can be a little slow and the food is pretty average

The restaurant has panoramic views of Bloemfontein which, as tourists, we were hoping to enjoy with a cup of coffee. At 12:05, we entered the restaurant and were told it only opens at 13:00. We could only experience the aroma of coffee that the waiter was enjoying. We will not be visiting this establishment again. We advise the restaurant to update their hours.

Bloemfonteins hidden gemstone. This place is beautiful. The views are picturesque. You get to see Bloemfontein from a totally different view. I walked in and secured with ease a table for 10. Service was awesome from reception when booking to the waiter that served us and the manager who checked on us. Safe to say the food was gastronomical. Looking forward to my next visit.

Is this place even open to the public? Last I heard it was for our highly respected VIPs only. /s

The Edge Restaurant is not ideal for big groups for breakfast. The food and drinks took a very long time to arrive after we ordered and the drinks were cold. Its definitely a restaurant meant for dinners.

The restaurant is uniquely designed and being placed in the middle of Bloemfontein on top of the Navalhill, makes it more unique and inviting for tourists as well as Bloemfontein community. I just love bringing all my visitors who dont stay in Bloemfontein to this unique restaurant.

Exceptional food. The pork ribs and chicken curry were the best weve ever had . They still need to get their bearings because they are still slowly starting up. This will soon be one of the best restaurants in Bloem.

The service was appaling. Food was below average, bathrooms were dirty. Avoid.

Unimpressed by the service. We didn’t even get our food and we were sitting there for over 45 minutes, waiting on the food.

My personal opinion is that the menu is not really cohesive in that the dishes origins are very different and no theme is aparant. The food is supposed to be ethnic, but this is unfortunately not the case. I would also suggest that the restaurant makes use of table cloths as eating from such a type bare table (that does not match the chairs) seems more like the type you get at a Saturday market. The food is good, overpriced and not so beautifully prepared. The worst of the night was that the mascarpone cheese that was in our Tiramisu was off and actually rancid, we sent it back and it was told that the manager would come see us, needless to say he never came. They also kept on serving the Tiramisu to other clients that ended up in them sending it back too. The staff were friendly and service was good, but major flaws by the management. #IKNOWYOUCANDOBETTER#DISAPPOINTED

What a nice surprise for a Bloemfontein restaurant. Beautiful views of the city with a spectacular sunset. I enjoyed my food but it was not without dissapointment. My daughter in law had the Tiramisu for dessert. The cheese - Mascarpone is normally used to make Tiramisu - was completely off (sour/rancid). However, the waiter indicated that the kitchen disagreed and said Ricotta 😉 is typically sour, and that is how it should taste. After we have send it back, the restaurant kept on sending more out to clients. I witnessed another client sending their Tiramisu back for the same reason. Our waiter, Lardo, by the way, very friendly and helpful, told us the owner will come round to discuss the dessert, but he never bothered to do so. No appology what so ever was made and against food and health safety guidelines they kept on serving a spoilt dessert. What could have been a fair experience ended on a SOUR note! Not good.

My dining experience at The Edge was of so little note that I am unsure what I had for dessert.Understand that I was vibrating with excitement at the thought of eating at an architecturally interesting restaurant with beautiful vistas of the Bloemfontein vanilla sky. One could make the argument that I expected too much, but I don’t believe so.Lets start at the beginning and work our way through the afternoon.Our reception was cold and a complete non-event. For a mostly empty restaurant you would expect, at the very least, a nod of recognition.The wine list is limited, and underwhelming. Our very friendly waiter had no idea what they had nor which is red or white.My salmon-cucumber and caper tartar starter seems to have been left open in a cooler and subsequently dried out.Perhaps my understanding of tapas is incorrect, but the selection left a lot to be desired. Again the friendly waiter didn’t know what all of the dishes were. Also; don’t get the bitterballen. They were vile and nothing like authentic Dutch bitterballen.I should mention that the tapas course took so long to prepare that I had time to walk to the Nelson Mandela statue and help tourists take group photos.Dessert, was a dish best served forgotten.On the upside, The Edge’s stemware is Chef & Sommelier.

The view is a big draw. Unfortunatly, the vibe ans service not what you would expect. Place has a lot of potential, but wont visit again soon.The vibe is not alligned with what you could expect of a fine dining experience. Service is not of great standard, the food is avarage.Truely hope this place takes the reviews serious. Please improve:1. Music. Ambiance is critical. Soft light music. Get rid of the nightclub/bar vibe. Focus on a fine dining experiene. Youtube can provide some guidance.2. Lightning. Focus on a more cosy and warm setting.All of the best. Go for sucess, and become an gem in the Free State.
