Clean antique cottage.Very dog friendly

Even taking into account the pricing, we had a rather disappointing stay! The pool was far away and not very clean! The one cottage had a electrical problem that was never sorted during our stay. We were lucky with the weather, as the fans were for ornamental purposes only! We had a leaking toilet and you needed a degree to work the showers. Our biggest challenge were the flies and they just kept on coming! Peaceful and a beautiful part of the berg !

The cottages look cute from the outside , but it is not up to standard inside. Paintwork needs attention, no hairdryer, the shower can only be used as a hand shower as the hook is broken/ not there.

Farm stay, devine and peaceful.

We, a family of 5, just came back from a 5 night stay in the Francolin cottage.Hosts were very unprofessional. They apparently were out at the time we arrived so we had to get keys from their children. During our stay they never came to welcome us, nor did they say goodbye when we left this morning.Cottage wasnt very clean, nor has it been maintained in a very long time. It needs a desperate repaint. Windows dont open properly, and the fans were inadequate for the 32-something degree weather it got up to. The bunk bed mattresses were horribly uncomfortable, and we wished there had been cosy, comfortable couches in the lounge to lounge and relax. Instead there were hard, rigid, chair-like furniture, with one of the arm rests loose. It broke off completely whilst we were there, and the host said he would come fix it. It was never fixed. The main bedroom shower was blocked which was resolved after the second day. The other bathrooms toilet leaked and the bathroom stunk as a result. Towels and scatter pillows were disgustingly filthy. The towels were taken to be cleaned but some were still stained with mud marks. The fridge, although turned to its coldest setting, was never cold enough and our food/milk often went off as a result.The only positives were the quiet and beautiful, green and lush surroundings, the friendly dogs (especially Ben and Twinkle whom well miss dearly!), the breakfasts and sweet Petunia whom truly helped make our stay enjoyable.This place honestly has a lot of potential! Needs some maintenance and friendlier hosts, only then will we visit again.

Very rural, simple, many animals at the houses. Make sure you have enough groceries with you because shops and restaurants are scarce. Breakfast in annex with fantastic view makes up for a lot.
