We absolutely LOVED our time here! Its a magical place; from the settings to the area to the people we met here. We used it as a base from which to explore the Amphitheatre part of the Drakensburg which is an easy drive from the lodge. We stayed in the spectacular Burchells self catering cottage and just loved the spacs, with views across the woodlands and jackals calling through the night. Highly recommend this place

My wife and I stayed at Three Tree Hill last month and had an exceptional time! The owners have created a one-of-a-kind experience for their guests. From the period decor to the historic memorabilia that hangs on the walls in the lounge area, nothing has been overlooked! Service was excellent. Food outstanding and the team went out of their way to accommodate us! Will definitely return soon!

We had the most fabulous stay at Three Tree Hill Lodge, I only wish we could have spent more time there! I cant remember the name of the room we stayed in but the views were absolutely gorgeous and the interior is just amazing. We enjoyed a very interesting walk in the adjoining game reserve with Cheryl Blackburn who runs the place with her husband Simon. Wonderful people, excellent company and a Drakensberg experience I would recommend to anyone. My one regret is that we didnt have time to do Simons famous battlefield walk but we will hopefully do that next time.

What a wonderful place to reconnect with nature. The location is fantastic with great vistas and awesome walks and mountain bike trails. The hospitality is brilliant and the accommodation superb. And its in the middle of nowhere. This is a place I will really recommend.

My friend and I needed a place to stay overnight and Simon and his team were kind enough to let us rent one of the luxury Chalets for the night. I thoroughly loved this place. I will certainly be factoring in a stay on my next SA KZN visit.

What an incredible setting with an awesome vista of the surrounding hillsides and Spioenkop Dam. We did an amazing walk with Cheryl Blackburn through the reserve and saw some awesome wildlife, birds, plants and much more.Overall the hospitality was brilliant and the accommodation perfect. Still one of my favourite places on earth - an easy drive from the Big Smoke, child and family friendly and something for everyone, every day. The views take your breath away, even when it rains!The team is so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Well be back, again and again.

Simon and Cheryl Blackburn are consummate hosts. The hospitality, food, ambience and accommodation is absolutely top-class. The larger accommodation units, Churchill’s and Burchell’s, with views over Spioenkop and the game reserve are quite magnificent. The addition of the new Molly Blackburn library and wine cellar compliments beautifully an already wonderful product. The range of activities available out of Three Tree Hill is extensive, and their Battlefields tours are surely the best available. Simon and Ron Gold share their wealth of knowledge via sublime storytelling. In our opinion, one of the jewels in KZN lodge options.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay at an exceptional lodge.What to expect: Beautifully rural and relaxing settings. Friendly and helpful staff. A very homely atmosphere. Great food with locally sourced ingredients. A very well stocked bar and impressive wine list.On top of all of that, there were some really nice personal touches that just demonstrated the lodge goes that extra step to provide a unique experience.

We were here for our honeymoon and had a magic time, such fantastic South African hospitality. Had a great game walk with some really good rhino sightings. The place has a lovely old world charm about it and the local focus is nice to see.

Having just had a wonderful dinner, with otheg guests, and now enjoying the quite and peacefull evenihg with the compsny og Gin & Tonic, the 2 lovely cats. This Lodge gives you the history, in a unique way. Come try for yourself.I must be off to bed now. Earlh bike ride in the morning, before breakfast.

Easy to get to and ideally located for exploring the northern Drakensberg or Battlefields region. The lodge overlooks the Spionkop hill, and has fabulous views of Spionkop Dam and the Drakensberg.Our weekend was wonderfully relaxing, with great hosts and fabulously attentive staff. The food was delicious and the dining at a communal table makes for great conversation & the making of new friends.On site activities include bush walks - self guided, or accompanied by a qualified guide through the Spionkop Game Reserve as well as mountain biking, horse riding and bird watching. A guided tour of the nearby Spionkop Battlefield with informative history lesson is a must.
