According to their policy regarding highest quality of vehicles and vehicle maintenance, as far as our experience with Sure Drive Umgeni road, goes, thats a whopping lie. They dont even deserve that one star. My husband purchased a Mazda drifter double cab bakkie, 4 X 4, with the assurances from the manager, and the sales person Siya, that the 4x4 is in perfect working order, before signing the purchase documents. Both, the manager and salesperson Siya from Sure Drive Umgeni, had done a test run of the vehicle to check if the 4x4 was engaging. They said it worked fineWe had a number of problematic issues with the vehicle, but our main concern was to own a 4x4 that worked, for the purpose of my husbands job, as he works on site on irregular terrain for a building company. We went ahead to buy this vehicle, taking the word of the manager and salesperson from Sure Drive Umgeni road, that the 4x4 works fine, even though the light did not come on , on the display to show the engaging of the 4x4. We were misled into believing that we bought a fully functional 4x4 bakkie What a loss that purchase turned out to be. Now, after having it checked by a professional, who stated that the 4x4 was definitely not working at the time of purchase, and Urgently needing to replace the split valve selenoid and the 2 broken switches that are responsible for the workings of the 4x4, we are now thrown into a state of panic and dismay, running around, taking off from work, to buy parts that are costing us more time and money. Dealing with these guys really woke us up to knowing how easy it is to be conned. The manager, I never bothered with his name, purely due to his unwelcoming nature, is not someone Id recommend getting help from. Siya, the salesperson for the Mazda drifter, was courteous and helpful, but he also lied about the 4x4 working well on the bakkie. On the one hand of courtesy, free lunch was offered by the owner. Well why not, taking into account the sale that was made. On the other hand we were ripped off, taking into account how much more we are still spending to repair a vehicle that was sold to us by Sure Drive on Umgeni road, where their policy indicates words such as quality and maintenance. After a number of messages and calls, the owner offered to buy back the vehicle, but only for the amount he had sold it. He was not taking into consideration the amount of money spent fixing other parts of the vehicle. On the last conversation with the owner, asking him to pay at least half the amount towards the replaced switches, he point blank refused. He refused to make payment towards sorting out the 4 x 4 switches, where the amount was R500 that he would have had to pay. Never again will I ever buy another vehicle from these people.
