The Cube in Durban is exactly what it says it is. A cube. A giant 3-D cube that also features wall mural art. The piece rests in a park on the Berea, unveiled as a street art mural a year before the Soccer World Cup in 2010, to function as one of the tourist attractions in Durban.Did you know? The Cube itself is not the main attraction, although it serves as a great location marker, rather it is the views from here that steal the show. The Cube, which is also a highlight on the twice-daily Ricksha Bus tour (it serves as one of only a couple of points at which you can actually get off the bus for a while), is well-known amongst Durbanites as one of the best lookout views over the city, and if it is an outlook over the Moses Mabhida stadium youre after, then look no further, for this is one of the best in Durban. The original murals on The Cube were painted by a collaborative group of Durban artists; the same group who painted a Human Rights wall painting at the International Convention Centre in Durban.
Good spot to chill out, enjoy the view, walk a little and get some fresh air
There is a great view of Durban city from up there. Theres just no good reason to visit again. Its an open field on top of a water reservoir. Besides the novilty of the cube itself, and the great view, theres not not more to say.
Most beautiful view of Durban Skyline. Love my Sunday drives here with some food and good company overlooking the ocean and stadium, beautiful to watch the sunrise here.
Lovely views, great place to chill and meditate.
Could look better with a little more gardening. I enjoyed the beautiful view of the city.
It was a beautiful 😍view 180° the city infused with the cost line.
One of the best Durban Skyline view spots
Spectacular city view. Better to go with company for safety reasons...beautiful green grass for picnics.. Not fenced in so no good for dogs off leash. (unless they are really obedient). The traffic on Innes road is always fast moving.
Great place to get a view of the city. Quiet, relaxing.
Beautiful view of most of Durban
My favorite place to think💜
Nothing really special about this place. Just a really nice view of durban
Best place to chill at ,especially at night amazing view
A beautiful, little and quiet park overlooking Durban.
Great views of Durban
Beautiful scenery!
Fantastic hill top view in Durban
Beautiful and good views
Pokey, far better places to stay.
Beatiful view of Durban from here. Could do with some tlc as theres a stench.
Great place
Nice view of Moses Mabida
Need a view to see the top of the famous Moses Mahbida Stadium. The cube gives you that view
Nice place for the dog to run
Amazing view day or night
The view was so beautiful😍👌
What a nice spot to view the whole of eThekwini.
Great spot to visit at any time. Great view of the stadium and the coast. Recommended
Great views
Its over rated 🙄 possibly better at night.
Stunning views over Durban and the Moses Mabida Stadium. A photographic opportunity.
Beautiful view of Moses Mabhida, beach front and City Centre
Great views over Durban. Love this spot
The best place to have madiba in your background photo.
Grass needs to be cut more often.
Lovely and clean
The view at any time of day is stunning !
The place is great and quite..
Great viewpoint of the city of Durban and beachfront.
Stunning views of Durban
Grass needs cutting. Weeds need pulling.
Very good
Great views.
So beautiful here
Best place to relax
Rickshaw bus tour.
Stunning view point, but poorly maintained, lots of litter, not enough bins, cube itself needs to be more reflective of our beautiful city.
Not active no vendors ,it a great spot for vendors and artist
Has a great view of Durban!
This place will show you a clear view of Durban city. Its like you are looking downwards for seeing Durban.Mabida stadium is visible and looks amazing.
Randomly found this small park after lunch. You get a great view of the stadium and a few benches to sit on for a small picnic or snack while you are there. Walk was pretty easy from Florida road or you can take uber.
The Cube was created as a perfect spot to take a photo of both the Moses Mabhida Stadium and of course Durban city. The cube itself was made to mark the spot and market the various routes of Durban tourism. The area is perfectly safe to stop and take the time to absorb the cityscape.
Great
Rooms are small and no bar. Nice breakfast and Polite staff though
Its so interesting you able to view the whole Durban city while you are standing there
The view from here is spectacular! Its one of the stops on the Durban Rickshaw bus tour over the weekend and it was nice to see people picnicking and.enjoying the view. Needs more bins for waste, the litter was a bit off putting and more seating or a braai area
Always a great landmark
A great little park and one of the best views of Durban. The Durban municipality needs to keep the area cleaner if they want 5 star reviews!
Wonderful place
Gives you a nice view of Durban city
Lovely view, great spot to chill with friends
Peaceful
Clear your head, enjoy a day view of Durban backed by the ocean or a night view with pretty lights.
Great views of Durban from a nice quiet space. Seems so sad for the actual cube to be encased in fencing to stop people defacing it.
Peace of mind. Overlooks Moses Mabhida Stadium,KingsPark Stadium and the beautiful Indian Ocean.
Happy New Year Happy 40 years
The view is amazing... The only criticism I have is that the trees are growing so I as to totally spoil the view of Moses Mabida stadium
Best Durban city views!
I would think one of the beat views from this spot, but you rather be here during the day, Im not sure if its all that safe during the night, but the view at night is awesome
Great spot to relax. Good for families, couples, friends etc. Quiet and safe. Overlooking the ocean, Moses Mabhida & the CBD.
Wow
Minimum security but a decent place to get away from everyone and just spend some time alone
This place is nice and highly you can see everything
Stunning view point. However please go in a group as it is NOT SAFE to go after dark alone.
