This used to be one of the BEST STORES in Durban but in the recent years I have noticed customer service has dropped here. Used to be full.of energetic staff and a sense of great customer service. Loved going there as a kid cos they had a huge array of toys.and goods.Purchased paint here recently and had to find.the items myself the attendants were busy chatting and so.i didnt even bother. Prices scanned incorrectly too. GAME.STORES NEED to Up your Game

This is the worst game Ive ever shopped atHorrible serviceI bought a fridge in the end of DecemberIt doesnt work properlyI go to them on SaturdayThey say, we cant do anything, warehouse is closedEventually 1 week later of using a broken fridgeI get a technician from KIC to come check the fridge in my house1 week later, nobody calls to tell me whats going onI had to waste my fuel Nd ask the lady in fridge departmentShe tells me I must wait because KIC didnt contact themAnd game didnt do a follow up with KIC.And when I get authorization for a new or exchanged fridgeEvery time I go to choose a fridge, they try to fool the customers and they say, no stockHow can u have such a big store with no stock. How can you get a promotion and 2 days later you got no stockAnd they dont even want to reserve it for meI must keep driving up Nd downAnd then they put items on display with price and say its for sale but when I choose to purchase it. Yet again I get the same story! out of stockAnd when I phone, nobody will ever answerAnd if I ask questions to the sales ladyShe will push me to the manager. And hes even worse. He will say yes yes yes he agrees but he does no action to satisfy the customerThey eventually find stock of a fridge I didnt wantAnd it wasnt on promotionAnd I purchase itAnd I must then phone 50 timesTo get answers to my questionsThey cant even tell me what time my fridge will be deliveredYet the fridge is dispatched from their store. The driver phones me at 1pm telling me hes leaving the store. Couldnt they tell me the delivery was made at 1pmI had to also miss out on an entire days wages for a delivery that will take 15 min maxHonestly. I will make sure I tell every person I I know to never buy from this store.

This once gem of Game City has closed down after 34 years. Sad to see a legacy store shut its doors.

Terrible shop. Terrible customer service. Easy to sell to you but difficult when it comes to dealing with faulty goods that they have sold to you. Technical staff very uneducated and unhelpful, not technical at all. Manager very rude. Stay away! Awful experience guaranteed! This is what a cracked screen looks like...

Helpful staff . Especially Marlene from the electronics dept , who takes the time to assist and explain features and capabilities of Televisions or other products that the store is selling. Expect good service all around

Good store. Great product. Wonderful variety. Well positioned. Clean. Good prices. You bound to find whatever you want here. Aisles are wide and uncluttered, easy to navigate, even with a wheelchair. However the staff need customer relations training. They are sulky, unhelpful and unfriendly. To get them to help you is a lot of work. To extract a hello from the cashier with blank looks is a real mission. Assistants are unwilling to help and really rude.

When ever i visit game i always find things i did not know i needed until i came across it. Its very convenient and their low on much of theor prices

Used to be good. But like so many things in the new South Africa, instead of rising up, it submerged itself into mediocrity. I used to shop at game so much. Every week. Now I might only shop their once in 2 years. It used to be a crystal chandelier, now its a dirty toilet with a floater. Game needs to up their game. And by the way, they promise to be the cheapest, but that is a total lie. They are way overpriced and prey on the gullible and stupid.

It was a good and bad experience. Good that I got the products I wanted at the price I wanted. Bad in that I had to almost plead for better service from some staff. I had to eventually try and fix/workaround an issue by myself.

Worth a visit, remember they have a policy of them beating eny ator supplyor price if it is not on a special or on markdown list.

I went there with the aim to buy a couch but the employee responsible for that took his time to come. I had to ask the cashier to call him.again after waiting for 30 minutes of which I was told that it would take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to get the couch out as it was at receiving.The service and staff in the department of couches was absolutely pathetic. It is better to go there only if you are buying something off the shelf that does not need a service from the sales people as they tend to think that they are doing a favour.

Their staff are very helpful. Today they over charge me by mistake. After alerting them, I got my refund within five minutes.

The escalator is not working. The travelator too is not working. So do not park on the roof top. It took me 10 minutes to walk down the escalator. People are now walking both up and down the non functioning escalator. Take care as every step is a different size.

One person who was assisting 6 customers to buy....plus we where purchasing big appliances like fridges and washing machines....the process was slow

Absolutely appalling service. I went into the store to do a laybye on a fridge, washing machine and a TV. I was informed that game is no longer doing laybyes by 2 staff members. (This was unbelievable to me because I had been to game Gateway the day before and they were happy to assist me with my laybye - however there was an issue with the TV license system) . So I left game city disappointed with not being able to get what I wanted, I then decided to call the store on my way home to ask why that particular store is not performing laybyes-the lady who I spoke to says game as a whole is not doing laybyes, so I informed her that game Gateway are doing laybyes, she then spoke to someone and informed me that they are doing laybyes and I should come back to the store and see the manager. Unfortunately due to the disappointment I will not be doing any business with Game any longer and will take my money, time and business elsewhere. Even the 1 star is way too much...

No service to complain about. Its cold with you no assistance what so ever. From assistance with products, to point of sale to after sales service it terrible. I really ridicule this particular game store. Its like a self service outlet in the UK. No exaggeration its my honest feeling of being forced to shop there cos of the location.

Went to Game City, City View on the 5th of June to by a spinning bike, waited for 20 minutes for someone to eventually pitch up to help only to be address rudely by their member of staff whose name was Andile Xaba as per name tag. I reported him to management at the store and the manager took a report from me and my number and has since not gotten back to me

The place is just fine and peoples are protecting by wearing masks everyone.

Ashley from the sports department could not demonstrate how a machine works and just said thats how it is ... I went onto the Trojan website and found that the machine was not even assembled correctly. Spoke to the floor manager who then paged for Ashley who disappeared.

I visited Game City on Saturday to buy Polaroid earphones and the lady told me they were finished, she then proceeded to sell a different pair of earphones only to find when I got home they do not work. I returned on Monday to exchange the earphones but only to find that the original earphones I wanted were available because of a devoted worker and they were never finished

The lady at the cellphone stand provided the worst service ever. She didnt acknowledge us at all after looking for assistance. She was not helpful at all even asked about the product. Wouldnt have purchased but had to buy the phone. On top of that she didnt even give us a plastic bag for the item purchased.Never ever going back there!!!!!!!

This is a really nice little mall. Its has quiet a few options. A few food outlets, clothing options, cell phone stores, checkers and of course a Game. Hence the name. The Parking is usually crowded although there is plenty more parking on the Roof.

Staff in this game store is extremely unprofessional they need training on customer service. I came to buy some items yesterday and 2 team members continued with a very deep and personal chats. No bodody packed my items I had to do it myself.when I reprimanded this behaviour they told me to close my ears. Like really , is this how we treat customer. I was disgusted by this as a customer service manager.

Terrible experience, no prices on their stationary items, cant find stationary items that they have just advertised, either sold out which I very much doubt, just not ready, the scanners dont work have to go to the tills everytime for prices which is pathetic for such a large organization. Surely GAME shud be prepared for school requirements. More and more people buy the school stuff before end of the year to avoid the school rush.Store needs an upgrade or a makeover. Only 3 tills opened. What a terrible experience.

This review is an isolated incident but still Id like share, stood more than 30min waiting for help in appliance area. Washing machine I was interested in had no pricing, had to make a scene get the manager involved, I even called the store from the floor. Very frustrating and annoying experience, unapologetic staff in that area, claimed they were busy but ignored me standing there. I explained to them a simple hello sir will be with you shortly would suffice, they managed to help me immediately after I found management though.
