Really reduculous the place is so packed and the queues arent managed at all..still a joke to go to these places. Why have they not thought of using a courier service to deliver the documents with various credential checks???Also the telephone nimber specified doesnt work, the contact us email adresee also doesnt answer the mails sent?

Wish i could say -5 stars... hours say they open at 8. We have been standing infront of the gate since 07:10 . First the security didnt know how to make a queue. Then we had to wait till 9 before they open the doors. They were 1st singing happy birthday to one of the staff inside. Then they had some cake . By 9 people started complaining and thats when they finally decided its time to actually start workig.. I mean there are mothers with their babies standing here. Once inside the gates its another waiting game. No one is mobing... absolutely pathetic. The minister of home affairs must come stand in this queue when he wants something done like the rest of us and not give it to his p.a to get for him. Maybe then they will realize how useless this place is

Dont answer their phones, documentation take over a year if not longer to get from them. Rows are confusing to stand in and the service is poor apart from a few that might help you.

I went to Home affairs Benoni..The ques was long.As I am elderly they came to fetch me and I was first inside.The staff was friendly and very organized for Cov.It was a very pleasant experience .Well done Home affairs Benoni!!!

This place does not deserve a rating why must I call a million times with no ANSWER as usual for something that should have taken two weeks and it is now three and a half months later Im 8 months pregnant do you people realize I have not been able to do anything because I dont have my ID , pathetic service!!

Although queues were long, it is probably due to not enough equipment and staff employed by home affairs for such a big area. Once inside the staff were polite and efficient, my documents were ready within 2 weeks, I expected at least 4-6 weeks.

Honest opinion.Ques are terribly long. I was here 5/11/20 from 6:30 till 8am just to get in the building. After I got inside another 30min que to get service. Service staff are however very friendly and knowledgeable explaining the entire process and what you need etc.I do suggest getting here before 6:30am to be served promptly after opening.After 12am they dont accept any more people till the next day.Hope Ive helped someone with this info. Cheers

Please would you be so kind as to UPDATE your hours as it is wrong. This morning I stood infront of the offices and by 08h30 you still were not open. Dont say you open at 08h00 if the doors arent open by then.

When you visit home affairs at Benoni,Youll will wait in a que for more than two hours outside . before even going inside , their ques are long and they take time to attended clients. They should just tell us to bring camping chairs and cool boxes so that we can chill here with them till they decide to do their jobs

At first we thought the service was great, till we needed to make payment. You have to get a number to use the cashier this is where the staff just ignore you. While you are been ignored you must adhere to the urine smell in the air. They have no flow of their service so this makes the queues extremely long while they providing slow service.

Pathetic is not even a strong enough word to describe their service. They dont seem to care a hoot. There are long queues but they have at best only two counters working at any given time and they just carry on nonchalantly and oblivious of whats going on around them.

Was expecting the worst after all the negative reviews. Got there at 07:45, was instructed to stand in a line. Because we had done the applications online, we were already halfway there. In total we were complete with all biometrics etc in 60mins.It’s a tough job @home affairs but if you are organized you can do it successfully.

5 counters normally attended by 2 people. 1 for collections. 1 for applications. Inside is crowded. Bathrooms smell like urine. Chairs are dirty.Only upside is that applications process is 2 weeks. Best time to arrive is early morning before 8. Literally waited 30min.Expect to wait round about 3 hours on average if you arrive in the afternnon before lunch.

Pathetic and inconsiderate, how is it that there systems are offline @ 9.30am? Went to collect my passport and was told to come by in the afternoon so I returned @3.25pm only to be told they closed by the supposed manager, clearly states online that they close at 4pm but what do they care!!!Unfortunately this is there procedure but they should really take into consideration that other people have work to do also and be more accommodating.

Always Busy and when you get served, there is no pens available and change when I went to Pay. So go with Pens, Patience and Change. Dont Stress.. thats just how this home affairs is.

Very disappointing, as we have always had good service. From the security officer to the temporary office manager were exceptionally rude!!! I went there to help someone else who after 12 hours of waiting over 3 days was nowhere closer to being helped. They refused to speak to me and then asked why the lady brought white people with her. I am appalled!!!

Terrible service to say the least. Went three times in December to change back to my maiden name, every time, they were off line. Fourth time stood in the queue for 3 hours only to be told I have to go to Pretoria (clearly didnt have a clue how to process this), which as per Home Affairs website is NOT THE CASE. This is after I registered, completed an application and paid online. Now 6 months later I will try Edenvale branch, hopefully the staff there have had sufficient training!! My car license has expired and I dont see the point of renewing this until my surname has been changed! Keep having to take off work and all we get is poor service everywhere!!!

They are offline at the moment, i came here for a replacement ID card and they told me to go to Brakpan. I found them very unhelpful. The plane is filthy, the place hasnt been swept, leaves all over the stairs, junk from building changes not removed. Need i say more!

You guys deserve no star.....Please explain how you loose documents at the home affairs offices where a document has been submitted? I am once again not shocked at all at the no service I have recieved from Benoni DHA. Paid for the unabridged marriage certificate and yet over 2 weeks later to find out you lost my forms. Now there I have to waste my time and stand and wait 4 hours again just because you guys lost my forms? How is this acceptable at all? Just as people at DHA have a job I have a job and if something like this has to happen at my work I would propably get fired. My ID number and husbands ID number are on these forms and it is sensitive information if this lands in the wrong hands we are being taken responsible not DHA. I really do hope this department takes their jobs and their lack of service seriously because this is unforgivable as this is delaying my permit and future process. Disguisting and embarrasing is what I would be if I worked there. Benoni is useless!!!!!

Very unfriendly, uninformed, uninformative and useless personnel. At Edenvale home affairs at the moment and they tell you where to go next, not go to that counter and points in the direction wher 3 different counters are. At least you can pay with credit card at Edenvale and people are MUCH MORE friendly than Benoni.Benoni Home Affairs........ You SUCK!!

Extremely slow, clueless poorly managed staff , lots of duplicate queing to hide there dreadful slow slow slow service , staff and management the biggest issue as everything is so so slow , 7 computers two being used,6 hours in queue , nearly there so anxious like its something I never ever dreamed would end .

I don’t understand why a department thinks it’s ok for people to stand in queues for 3 hours .. it’s in humane , a human rights abuse for sure , people with children and babies left to STAND for HOURS , while staff go on lunch and sit all day ....
