Stunning jewel in the middle of nowhere! However , quantity of food in relation to price is not justifiably. Had a pricey breakfast but was exceedingly disappointed in quantity . If , I had known earlier , I would have ONLY ordered the home baked bread , jam/cheese . Coffee was average and can definitely be of a more superior quality. Hope to experience positive changes , should I drive through Bedford again . Good luck!

Great venue . Firewood was wet and no starter kit supplied. Bath water pressure would have taken a week to fill the bath but the shower was great and beds comfie. Had dinner in the restaurant and the beef stir fry was exceptional (spicy hit and tasty) but the chicken thai curry watery and flaky.I love the Duke of Bedford but perhaps some attention to detail please ?

Had the best lamb chops and fish and chips ever - honestly. Our room is really comfortable, clean and super spacious - a suite! Management and staff are friendly, helpful and a joy.

Enjoyed the Hospitality. Well done to the new revamping that was done.

Love this place and the food is delicious, but the waiting is ridiculous. This morning i had to wait for over an hour to get breakfast of which i ended up not getting because i was late for work.Im really disappointed by the service we received this morning.

Very neat,nice beautiful place and fresh food.Nice swimming poolWhen I came back from work tired my room was not done and I have to report and wait in the lounge👎👎There is no bar fridge in the room as there are diabetic people who may need to put their medication in a fridge and sometimes its hot you need ice or cold water.So you have to go to the kitchen or bar for ice or cold water.RecommendationsIf bar fridges can be available in roomsA microwave in roomsIf the wifi can be available throughout than these vouchers that are finished before you vacate the place.

Wow. What can be said about the terrible service received here. The food was good but it took over an hour to reach our table. The staff was dismissive, inattentive and borderline rude. Our table was neglected with dirty plates piling on our table without being cleared. They ran out of some of the items we ordered and took 30mins to report that fact. The staff didnt take drink orders until summoned, in fact they didnt take orders for anything until summoned. Pretty dismal service. The 2 stars is really only for the good food. Do not recommend.

The food is always amazing and always saves the day!The service from the bar and waitress are very poor. Dont attend to tables, drinks take very long.Was told on Sunday that they are fully booked, while in the whole place only two tables were seated. We were told at first we cant order lunch, but all the walk ons after us, got a menu straight ahead, with no stories.

Great lunch- we wondered in to huge portions, good prices, absolutely delicious Mozart cake.But the kitchen seemed in chaos, staff were dashing about and the wait for food was almost an hour. When it came - the chicken and mozzarella ordered, pulled pork arrived. Tasty, but not close to what we ordered :)- hopefully a once off mistake. We will be back to try again.

What a gem! The courtyard cafe can be found under the umbrellas on the patio of the Inn. The cafe serves fresh cake and toasties throughout the day. They were very accommodating and were even willing to serve toasties in their dining room during Sunday lunch.

Wow!! Staying over here happened accidentally as I was tired driving. Excellent and exquisite furniture decorations enjoyed supper and breakfast with friendly and easy going staff. Will definitely recommend this place for sleeping over whilst driving thru to Cape Town or Middleburg or anywhere as long as u just experience it 👌👍

Favourite accommodation in Eastern Cape so far! The food is on another level and the rooms are beautiful. Some of the staff could do better regarding hospitality and friendliness but I feel that it shouldnt reflect badly on the institution. Definitely a must.

Visited with the Harley Book club Mid February. Everything are top class!From booking in to the immaculate clean and posh rooms to the service from all the employees. The food was to die for! Mid afternoon snacks and a great steak later to be followed by one of the most scrumptious breakfast the next Moring.Nothing was too much when asked for anything. When the ice machine became faulty in the 34 degree heat, the Manager source all the ice from Spar, to ensure that we are catered for.The pool bright and sparkling clean! Will for sure stay there again, small town with one of the biggest hearts Ive encountered in a loooong time!!Keep it up Guys!

Rather book in PE. Tardy waiters and waitresses, you have to ask for a wifi password every time. They make you feel like you didnt pay for it. Food: egg salmon gas changed for worse.

Very nice place, a real gem in Bedford. Service and food is lacking a bit. We ordered 4 fillet steaks and none of them was cooked the way we asked. This is a bit of a shock considering its a predominantly cattle farming community that is very picky about their meat.

The service of a very poor standard. I got my main meal before receiving a coffee I requested on arrival. The waiter didnt even introduce himself nor apologize for the delays.

Pretty good place, not perfect, but is the best place to stay a night in Bedford, good rooms,clean,wifi and aircon. Decent breakfast and lunch, but service could be improved and does not have alot to do except a kinda small pool and bar.Still recommend if you need to stay somewhere in Bedford, also the hotel is a litte pricy.
