The prestigious Karoo Guest Farm offers the perfect getaway holiday. With a lovely organised house. One of the hiking trails leads to a fountain with crystal clear water, variety of birds in lush green trees, with braai facilities - ideal refreshment. The Guest Farm is surrounded by ridges, mountains and a blanket of stars, it is a wonderful oasis. Grootfontein is safe and in style. Highly recommend it to anyone who needs a getaway weekend or overnight stay!

Excellent accommodation. House very well equipped. Large wrap around verandas to keep you cool from the midday heat.Solitude with clear skies at night full of stars.If you want a break away from everything. This is the place to be.Added advantage is the Karoo National park is just twenty minutes away on a good gravel road.Highly recommend this beautiful unspoilt Karoo farm stay.

We adored the restored farmhouse. So beautifully and stylishly renovated while keeping the character of the old Karoo house. The owners have paid attention to every little detail to make one’s stay comfortable and enjoyable. Our overall experience of staying there for a few days was so superb that we are already making plans on when to return to this peaceful place.

An amazing experience in the Karoo, very close to the N2 and Beaufort West, is the farm Grootfontein with a beautiful renovated farmhouse. We had a fantastic couple of days that we spend there, with complete silence, starlit nights and a great braai area inside the house or outside if you so wish. Our hosts, Tonia and Hilmar, made us feel truly welcome and spared no effort in making sure we had everything and that we were comfortable and settled in.We will definitely be back to enjoy more of this gem in the Karoo and the new hiking trails that were set out. What a perfect spot for a family getaway! The house is conveniently close to the N1, and offers ample space for rest and relaxation. Complete privacy! The splash pool was a huge bonus and as well as the option of having an indoor or outdoor braai. Nothing beats a sundowner on the large covered stoep... Cant wait to go again and explore more of the veld and the nearby Karoo National Park.

This was our second visit to this peaceful farmhouse. Wide open spaces, Karoo magic and a starry sky at night. The splash pool is perfect for hot days and the house is full of authentic furniture but modern comforts. The house is full of small, thoughtful touches: A Karoo recipe book, home made treats, an adult colouring in book, novels to read and eco friendly cleaning products. We also visited Leeurivier and saw sable, eland, giraffe, zebra and gemsbok. Bring your binoculars for the birds.What a wonderful treat. Highly recommended.
