The Toposcope is a heritage site commemorating the 1820 settlers and their descendants. It is located on a particularly scenic hill with many landscape views. Plaques reflecting the names and ships of the parties arriving in the Eastern Cape in 1820 appear around the Toposcope. The plaques create a compass direction indicating the location of the various settler parties. As a tourist attraction this monument and others in Bathurst are the lifeblood of tourism driven job creation in the area. What an amazing view. Fresh air. So relaxing being on top of the world. Dont miss it when passing through Bathurst!

A historic place of interest commemmorating the 1820 settlers.
Amazing place to go see shows a good view of the areas around and has a bit of information about it.
What an incredible look into our past!
Small historic site with beautiful views of the surrounding area, and the local cows grazing. Site needs some upkeep with long grass, lots of litter and broken glass around.
Interesting monument giving info on the distribution of farms to the early British settlers.Good to see that recent work had been done to maintain the inscriptions on the plaques.
Historical site including the chiefs and where they stayed in relationship to the area. Nice view of the landscape.
Great to see the Toposcope restored again. Well done!
The view from up here is stunning, you can see most of the farm areas surrounding Bathurst. Sadly though it is poorly maintained.

Interest. Shows how farms were allocated to 1820 Settlers
Litter and glass needs to be picked up.
Dirty, many thorns and run down
Terribly vandalized, what a pity.
