What a wonderful find. We love sushi and are totally unable to get it living in the Eastern Cape boondocks, a friend told us about this place and it definitely did not disappoint. They have a dedicated sushi chef who really tries his best to please, and please he did. The rest of the menu is good solid country food, the prices are good. The setting is really beautiful, the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to please, the service was really top notch. The restaurant is clean and cheerful with a lovely little shop selling arts and crafts as well as jams, preserves and other snacks. I highly recommend this place. We did not stay in the hotel, but from what we saw it look really nice. One downside is that it isnt easy to get hold of them by phone, their internet is often down and it affects their landline as well, if you cant get hold of them email them.

During our stay at the Royal Manor, we were treated like royalty by the owner and friendly staff. They serve the best meals that we have had for a long time. We recommend this Hotel to anybody travelling through or wanting to spend some time in Barkly East area. It is clean and nothing is too much trouble for them. Good value for money!

Very horrible welcome we received, ladies were not even polite enough to show us our rooms. As if thats not enough, an assumed breakfast was brought to us, when we told the lady we would like to have something else, a miniature sized muesli was given to us. One star is even too much for the treatment we received there...
