We spent just over a week on this very beautiful farm. It lies right up in the Witteberg Mountains, so it’s an ideal getaway for outdoor - including hiking and trail running - enthusiasts. Accommodation on the farm varies from luxury to very basic. We stayed in the Fieland Cottage, which is just a basic hikers hut, and it was perfect - it’s very remote and set in a stunning valley. For this hut you must take all your own linen, crockery and cutlery, and camping chairs are a good idea too. There’s no electricity; candles, a paraffin lamp and a gas cooker are provided. There is also a gas heater for the shower. Check with the owners about what you need to bring if staying in the other cottages. For hiking, ensure you bring a compass or GPS, and ask for a map of the area. We hiked up several peaks and the views were superb. Plenty of birds, wildlife and beautiful plants to be seen. The stars on moonless nights were spectacular. We will definitely be back!!!

Spectacular scenery, friendly hospitality, comfortable accommodation. Endless space and quiet. We enjoyed a splendid few autumn days hiking and exploring the beautiful clear rivers. Visiting the nearby rock art site was a highlight. Highly recommended for families or groups of friends wanting to enjoy a few days of outdoor activities and relaxing in safety and comfort away from it all.

This farm is one of the most beautiful farms you can ever visit. The accommodation is lovely, it is simple, it has everything you need to have a lovely fresh outdoor active,indoor comfort with family and friends of all ages. Its safe, the hiking is varied in levels of fitness required. Its also geared to hours of reading in comfort and quiet if thats what you want.
