Great hospital just needs revamping

Excellent hospital, went to check on my friend

They certainly deserve the award they recently received!

This is a Government hospital. I took my mothers maid to see a doctor for a painful knee swelling. 2 TIMES (out of 4 years of visits) she was given xrays to determin what caused the painful swelling. She was sent home with over the counter paintabs every time. The hospital is in dire need of a good cleaning and building maintenance. Most of the staff had a lethargic (did not want to serve patients ) attitude. Staff actually sent away a sick old lady who arrived there 15 minutes before closing time. She was told to come back the next day, after she walked most of the day to get there. The one young lady doctor was very efficient and empathic. The other two doctors were in each others consulting rooms joking/chatting most of the time while sick people patiently waited. We waited from 14h10 to 16h20. There was 9 patients waiting when we entered the waiting area. The doctor that saw us, was rude and clearly not in the mood to do what taxpayers money, pays him to do. I truly feel sorry for South Africans without medical aids. This facilty is working mostly to provide jobs and not to help the sick people.

Very long queues. Nurses are rude and some nurses do not follow doctors instructions, especially when one is pregnant and is about to give birth.
