Dr Thomas is our family GP. If you need a GP in the Brackendowns, Alberton area I would highly recommend him.

WORST MEDICAL CENTRE IN GAUTENG - KEEP YOU WAITING FOR OVER 1.5 HOURS EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE AN APPPOINTMENT.This place provides horrendous service. The receptionists will double book appointments and then you will have to sit and wait at least an hour to see the GP even though you made an appoitment 3 days in advance. It is extremely disrespectful for anyone to consider their time more valuable than yours and to keep you waiting when you have made an appointment to meet with them. Nobody wants to sit and wait an hour to see a doctor when you are as sick as a dog, and when you are only there for something minor, you don’t want to sit in a waiting room for an hour and pick up the germs of all the other sick patients and go home with something even worse than what you came with. There is no sign on any of the walls to request that patients turn their phones to silent (yes, I know its just common sense but nobody has any common sense or consideration for others these days), so at least 5 people were watching videos, making calls, etc with the volume of their phones on all at the same time, which is extremely disturbing when you aren’t feeling well.My medical aid savings was depleted because I returned to this GP at least 10 times to see him about the same condition for which the root cause was never established and he billed me for every single one of those consultations. This wasn’t really my gripe though, my gripe was the fact that they sent me an account for the amount that wasn’t covered by my medical aid 3 weeks ago, which I paid on the same day I received it. They then sent me an account again a week later after it was already paid so I informed them it had already been paid and to check their bank account properly, but today when I arrived there they AGAIN told me that the amount was still outstanding and then made me pay cash as if I am some kind of criminal or something before the doctor would even see me. I find this unacceptable because if they don’t put the claim through my medical aid, I lose out on the tax benefit of unpaid medical expenses that my medical aid includes on my tax certificate for SARS, so even though my medical aid benefit is used up, it should still have been submitted through the medical aid, and I could have just paid them via EFT again when they sent me a statement, but clearly their accounting department is totally incompetent so they need to ensure they charge cash up front. The GP himself has never once bothered to take my blood pressure in all the times I have visited even though I am on chronic medication for high blood pressure, because he is in too much of a hurry to move on to his next patient and it is too important to make money than to do a proper and thorough diagnosis on your patients.
