Only place to sit down and eat at George airport. Im not surprised by the low rating of 2.5 of 41 reviews because the area need some attention and the menu was photo copied and not even clear and was skew. Just looked unappetising. But hunger beat skew menus so I ordered the wrap which was incredibly delicious and the service was commendable good. Your waitress and chef saved the day; Ill look well after them if I was the owner!

Efficient service, not waited long for food neither. Which is important for an airport coffee shop. However food and coffee were just OK. Kitchen quality control could improve.

There is nothing wrong with this place at the George Airport. Staff was attentive and service was fast. We ordered the Illy Cajun Chicken Deluxe Wrap. Not bad at all.Ok, this is not a dinning destination by itself, but if you need a quick bite at the airport, this is certainly worth a visit.

Easy and convenient place to grab some light food before your flight, the prices are reasonable too.

The plight of tomato.In hopes of a little breakfast before my flight I had asked for a toasted ham and cheese as well as a flat white. My coffee was lovingly prepared and a good cup of Joe was produced. Unfortunately, however, the purity of my simple sandwich was lost when its soft fluffy slices of white, its gleaming helping of ham and its stretchy succulent serving of cheese were defiled. As I opened the container protecting my deer sandwich there it was... Hanging from the edge of its crust, its putrid red, seeping flesh tearing apart the fleeting joy my soul and stomach once felt the flesh of an unwanted tomato. Needles to say the damage was irreparable, its pungent juices has worked their way though my poor sandwich and the promise of what could have been was lost.If youre looking to eat something at George airport my suggestion, and the many other ones this establishment has seemed to receive, would be to rather just stick to a packet of chips of something from the sweet store lest your joy be plucked from your heart as mine has been.

Pleasantly surprised by the Express Breakfast, well priced and generous serving.

Bad experience.They gave me a coffee smoothly instead of the Frulata that I ordered and the service was slow.

This morning only one staff member, playing barista as well, not coping with demand. No pouring cream available. Not the norm. At other times had good service and reasonably good coffee here.

Why is the name ‘Express’? They should change it to ‘Slow’! Coffee is good. Service is very slow. Lots of flies around.

Waiting for a plane and need a quick bite to eat, the Illy Express restaurant certainly lives up to its name. We enjoyed fast and efficient service, the food was delicious and the drinks were well prepared. We were able to enjoy an efficient Wi-Fi service. Keep up the good work team Illy.

They didnt have Rooibos tea. They didnt have tomatoes. I ordered 2 poached eggs. They arrived floating in the vinegar water they were cooked in. I ordered soft eggs, 1 was broken. I asked the waitress to remove the water and said I didnt want a broken egg. Limp old rocket accompanied the dish.The waitress removed the plate and said they would cook a new dish. A few minutes later she returned with exactly the same food but on a dry plate. The toast was soggy as a result of the water.A manager came and asked about my food. I said it wasnt any better and she smiled and asked if it was ok. Either she wasnt listening or she didnt understand me.A short while later another lady came and asked me to complete an ACSA questionnaire about the restaurant. I will never return. I would rather go to Wimpy!

I had such a bad experince at llly Express George Airport. While I was drinking coffee there a waitress came and sat on the backrest of my chair with het bloody bum on my back. I never thought I will experience something like that in a coffe shop. This complain will go to head Office and Acsa

I would recommend grabbing something else to eat or drink before you get to the airport. It is completely overpriced for what you get - stale croissants and terrible coffee.

Dreadful. Avoid if possible. Wrong orders, no change, no ice cream and PHOTOCOPIED menus( from the originals??)

This place is useless. I ordered Tramazini, after 10 minutes, the waiter tells me, they have none. I ordered a Chicken wrap, my friends breakfast was ready , then only the waiter tells me they have no chicken! 9:45 in the morning? Why do you open for business if you dont have stock? Pathetic!

It somehow took over 45 minutes to make a toasted sandwich. When asked for it to be put in a takeaway container as our flight was about to board, they mentioned they were out of cheese... Key ingredient guys.The staff were also not very attentive.

Friendly staff, missing supervision. Dirty tomato sauce bottle, broken salt grinder with not so clean tables...

Food was alright, coffee takes a long time to arrive and also tastes awful, not ideal for people who are about to board flights.
