This is was one of the best places that I have stayed at, room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Very affordable, and the staff level of service was exceptional.I would definitely book it again when am in the Addo area. Highly recommended.

A rustic but feel-at-home incredible hostel. Friendly staff, awesome pub, great vibes...one of my favourite stay in the region! Highly recommended. There is a coffee shop on site too! Wifi does not work in the room but plenty of it by the pub/lounge area, with fast access.

Perfect place to rest if youre exploring Addo, hostel safari guide has all the know, onsite bar and great pizzas!

Freaking cool hostel! Owner is really cool and theres everything you expect from a hostel.

I felt so insulted when I called and enquired and was told I might be coming there for sexual activities and was told it is not a motel. I feel like there are better ways to say things. I highly recommend training of phone etiquette to whoever would be dealing with phone calls.

Good location for aAddo park. Room was comfy and clean (no towel provided and we realised too late to ask reception if this was accident). Communal areas need more attention..no handsoap in bathroom or kitchen and no washing up liquid in kitchen

Lovely little restaurant tucked away next to the backpackers. Pizzas are divine and good value for money.

PLEASE AVOID!!! Went here with my family and unfortunately there was cellphones and credit cards stolen from us. Please use alternative locations there are plenty amazing options

Good situation near Addo Park.Our room had no door to the bathroom and toilet. At least a curtain could have been hung to ensure some privacy.No internet at the backpackers, you had to go to the pub 100m away

Definitly a wonderful place to Enjoy Addo National Park.By far The less expansive accomadation in all the surrondings.The quality of all the facilities is very good (rooms, beds, pizza restaurant, ...) .The owners do everything to facilitate your stay (shuttle from Port Elizabeth, booking, etc...).And it definitly worth it to do the Addo Tour with the Orange Elephant guide, who is very relevant and accurate in all his explanations, knows Where to go and Where to spot animals.This Backpack is à Very good discovery.

Accommodation are basic but if you are not expecting a hotel definitly recommended (bring your towel and soap). Two nights are sufficient to see the Addo Elephant Park. The full day Tour is a must - highly recommended!! Great breakfast available and in the evening a bar nearby serves Pizza. You can get there from Porto Elisabeth by uber. Return transfer back to Porto Elisabeth is organised by the Hostel.

Its really close to the Addo Elephant Park, so if you want to visit the park, its a good spot. The rooms werent the most beautiful and the stuff was not really friendly though...

What an awesome place!!! Just like a hostal should be...welcoming people, basic, open space and everything that you need to enjoy each others company...bbq, pool table, bar...when I stayed there 2015 they were about to start their own homebrew...I wonder how that is going but Im planning to be back early 2017!!!

Great experience, perfectly located, very welcoming & accommodating - we wanted our own room and for few more rands, we got a beautiful room with our own shower and comfortable beds.I would absolutely recommend the Orange Elephant Backpackers for a one night stay.

Its close to Addo Elephant Park and the staff is nice. Otherwise its not really well prepared with basic things- missing a lot of things in the kitchen and could be much cleaner.

Hello all,Before reading the notice that follows, I hope you are doing well.Now that I have your undivided attention, I can only recommend this wonderful hostel to you. The welcome is warm, the hosts smiling, generous and above all they have their hands on their hearts (or their hearts on their hands, I never know ..).Lets talk little, lets talk well. The rooms are very spacious, the beds well made and comfortable. We were lucky to have a room with an integrated bathroom: happiness. Be careful, however, not to be too fond of hot water! But after all, a good cold shower wakes you up.Finally, our favorite was the bar located 50m from the hostel. Atypical atmosphere, neat decoration and pleasant service. Regarding the bar, we find a most classic wooden frame that reminds us of our habits in French bars. In terms of the menu, the dishes are delicious and well presented. The wine and spirits list is well stocked.All of my 7 roommates and I can only recommend that you spend a night in this warm and modest hostel.Have a nice stay at Addo Elephant Park!

The dorm should be closed here. You sleep with 8 people in a room, which shouldnt be bad, only there are no sockets, the beds are completely sagged and the upper beds of the bunk beds have no fence, so you fall out easily. The kitchen was also very dirty and there is only an outside shower and outside toilet. The only positive point here is the location relative to Addo Elephant Park.

Unfortunately, it is not recommended.Everything is very shabby and worn out. Wherever we were there people in the dorm were stolen during the night. The pub is not open on Sundays and breakfast is no longer included! All in all, very profitable. What was really positive is the guided ride through the addo!

We thought it was super nice people, nice atmosphere and nice environment! The small market nearby has tasty takeaway snacks and good pizza. In our room with bath was nothing to complain about and the tour in the addo was a real highlight. We would come again!

Bon accueil par le propriétaire, emplacement parfait pour Addo. Accès à toutes les commodités de la maison et chambre spacieuse.Prix assez cher, pour un logement où lélectricité et leau sont coupés de de 19h30 à 21h30 et beaucoup de poussière. Absence de personnel en cas de problème.
