Fonteinbos Nature Reserve surrounds Aberdeen dam and reservoir, which has been supplied with spring waters which records indicate constantly emitted from a natural eye since trekkers drifted through the Karoo in late 1700’s. Fonteinbos is home to small herds of small and large antelope, because water is in abundance so too are snakes.
